Re: Arrows and curves

At first I thought you had inadvertently created an optical illusion that made the lower line look longer when they are the same length, but on closer inspection I believe the lower line is actually longer. I prefer the lower one personally. Better symmetry around the line-arrow intersection althoug...

Re: Gaza

My impression is that air drops are too hard to control. The hungry mob will just grab what they can when the crates hit the ground. So whatever aid agencies are still operating can't really control who gets it, so fighters and black marketeers are as likely to get it as anybody. Although I am sure ...

Re: What's going on in your city/country/region?

There must be a theory brewing somewhere that Trump supporters killed Epstein. A few years ago I saw an interview with someone from the Watergate era who said that Nixon told someone "he needs to be taken care of" or words to that effect. Forgot who needed to be taken care of, but it's feasible tha...

Re: Ancestry

OK, so more the latter. You did actually get to know him once you found out about him. I would have been a bit puzzled if you had not had any interest at all. But I can see that just having a DNA connection does not imply a free ticket to an interpersonal relationship.

Re: Ancestry

I closed my 23andMe account and blocked my half brother on my phone. Just wanted to know, not to deal. 23andMe has pretty much closed itself. Well, I guess not really, companies can come back from Chapter 11 filings. Out of curiosity re: your half brother, why did you want to know? From the perspec...

I'll give him credit for keeping the lights on around here. I have no problem with his posts, but sometimes I find they are a bit of an overload. There's a big mixed bag of subjects he gets into. I often wonder how in the world he finds the time to even watch parts of all the videos he posts. Howeve...

Re: What's going on in your city/country/region?

I guess Trump just deployed the Marine Corps to Los Angeles to suppress protests against mass deportation. https://www.latimes.com/california/live/los-angeles-protests-immigration-raid-updates Wild. It feels increasingly like the world has become a sci-fi dystopia. I always compared Orwell and Huxl...

Re: Gaza

The international community is very obviously becoming more vocal against Israel. I think in the past month or so, the Overton window has shifted in countries like the U.S and the U.K., and criticism of Israel is no longer automatically antisemetic, and the reflexive defenses appealing to antisemit...

Re: Gaza

A two state solution may or may not be off the table, but I think it will increasingly become the preferable realistic option for Israeli Zionists. I think there are essentially only three ways forward: (1) continued apartheid or ethnic cleansing or genocide towards establishing a "greater Israel",...

Re: Gaza

It's such a clusterf*ck now I don't see any good way for it to end. I figure both sides hate each other to the extent they won't ever get along (I realize this has been the case pretty much from the start). Hindsight being 20/20, while the Palestinians got a bit of a raw deal in 1948, if had they ju...
