Re: Internal monologue

Aphantasia isn't a medical thing as far as I know. It's just a difference in how people think or something. I don't think it really hinders anything beyond forming mental images. I talked to people about it who do say they can form mental images and what they describe is much different from my exper...

Re: Internal monologue

I don't know if I have one. I don't have a voice that narrates every thing I do or anything like that. I don't even think in words all the time. I mean I do sometimes, like now when I'm trying to write something or if I'm having a conversation in my head, but that's usually not a monologue. It's usu...

Re: RTO

I'm fully remote. My work is trying hard to push most people to go back to the office, but I haven't gone. Most people in our office have gone back. I don't want to.

Re: Depression is likely not caused by a chemical imbalance in the brain, study says

What are the sources of the unhappiness? Mostly health issues, chronic pain, my job, and not having time or energy to do things that I want to do because of the other issues. So basically it feels like I'm stuck in this crappy situation and can't have my own life because I spend all my time and ene...

Re: Depression is likely not caused by a chemical imbalance in the brain, study says

I've tried SSRIs and SNRIs. They didn't seem to help and just gave me side effects. The "chemical imbalance" thing never really sounded right to me. It always seemed like it has to be more complicated than that. Not that I have any clue what the actual cause is. I figure it's probably different for ...

Re: Books & Reading Them

What country did you get the tests in? Do you know the exact tests you got? I could look up the name of the test to see what it includes. Could you describe your diet? Thanks for the interest. I've been dealing with this problem for years. I don't really want to go into it all here. I was really ju...

Re: Books & Reading Them

Massages and acupuncture helped me immensely with my headaches. Even stopped a cycle of cluster headaches. I do acupuncture on and off too, but I'm not sure that the needles do much for me. I think this treatment my acupuncturist does called gua sha helps, but it leaves ugly marks for a couple days...

Re: Books & Reading Them

Headaches are horrible! I have a few triggers and don't really take the precautions that I should so I probably get a 2-day migraine at least twice a month. And it doesn't matter what I take, it's gonna take 2 days to go away. I suppose you must have tried eliminating certain things from your diet ...

What's up Light Leak? What ails you?
The same stuff that has for years. Chronic headaches, autoimmune illness, anxiety, and some other stuff. Doctors don't seem to know how to help me, so I guess it's up to me.

Re: Books & Reading Them

I haven't read fiction in awhile. When I read lately it's mostly health books. I still want to read fiction if I can find the time, but lately I've been trying to figure out how to fix myself since doctors can't seem to figure me out.
