Re: What's going on in your city/country/region?

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. put a bunch of vaccine critics on a CDC committee. This could affect whether insurance covers some vaccines. One pick is Dr. Robert Malone. https://www.cnbc.com/2025/06/11/rfk-jr-malone-cdc-vaccine-committee.html Malone suggested earlier this year, without evidence, that recent...

Re: Little Rants

Lack of buttons on the front of monitors these days. I have a roll of shock cord that comes in handy for keeping cardboard boxes closed and bundling things. Two days ago I made a loop and put it around my monitor to hold notes. St. Jude sent me free note pads and I didn't want to throw them out so n...

Chat GPT could analyze lab results. And BTW, not bragging but I asked it to calculate my age from sexual function markers alone and the upper range was 40 years old. Forgot the lower. Just to let you know it could do that.

Do not use WInzip. I've known of Winzip for decades. Even recently I heard good things about it, but I didn't look for reviews until after I uninstalled it. It's crap. I had asked ChatGPT to recommend encryption products with a decent sized company behind them and with a GUI and it mentioned Winzip....

Re: Seen on the internet

Over the years, I've found three of my childhood cups that I haven't seen in over 40 years (maybe 50!) on Ebay. Buggs Bunny, Fred Flintstone, and now the oldest yet - Tommee Tippee! My only memory of Tommee Tippee was of a character on it (I MAY have remembered it was a bear) holding the same cup, a...

When superficial isn't. You said: why was david berkowitz discharged from the army ChatGPT said: David Berkowitz, also known as the "Son of Sam" killer, served in the U.S. Army from 1971 to 1974. He was honorably discharged after three years of service. There is no publicly known indication that his...

Re: Mastering Web Development

I'm ankle-deep into web dev again. Grids instead of tables. New semantic tags like aside. My past experience saves a lot of time though, and now I'm focusing on content. Even with all the responsive design stuff, I'm using absolute positioning when the resolution could handle it, so the left and rig...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2-eitsutpOc I sometimes cut it into pieces, but first I cut it into slices. The slices aren't too thick, so the knife won't have to deal with a bowl shape. It's easier and cleaner to eat the chunks than to dig your teeth into slices. I've mixed the chunks with cantalo...

Trump, holding a stack of articles: "All of them, they just came out, these are all, every single one, I haven't seen one that says it's a good trial. It's political...and it's a shame." And in closing he says "This country is devolving into a third world country, between having no borders, having n...
