Re: Little Rants

Low end computer prices have remained about the same for 40 years. The specs are about 100 times better but they don't lower the prices. It probably makes sense but it feels like a conspiracy. Why did stores stop selling reduced fat ice cream? My only option at Giant was a reduced fat orange creamsi...

Re: Recent topics aren't recent

Never mind. I was on page 14 because I kept going to new pages to see the new header quotes. In the context of page 14, the recent threads were recent. Shouldn't work that way though.

Recent topics aren't recent

For the last couple of days, I've seen topics with old last posts in the Recent Topics section.

Re: You can only listen to these five albums for the rest of your life

I would choose a bunch of best of albums because I never followed anyone's normal releases. Not sure which though. Two contenders would be Michael Bolton and Celine Dion. It's known that Celine has stiff person syndrome. Michael Bolton has something that looks similar. It makes me wonder if there's ...

Re: What are you watching?

I didn't watch the whole thing, but I was impressed by the beginning of this video about gooseneck barnacles. It got right to the information I wanted within seconds after I wanted it. Cost, what they taste like, and location. And the speaker sounds normal.

Re: What's going on in your city/country/region?

A 4.8 earthquake hit NJ and was felt in PA and NY. I was at work, in the bathroom. I think I heard it and thought someone was downstairs by the bathroom, maybe checking up on why I was there for a half hour (because of a chipped wisdom tooth, I string and water floss after my morning bagel, and it's...

Re: The discerning person's guide to attractive stuff with 100% less snark

I posted a pic of Sophie Arvebrink on Ptah's forum and I still think of her sometimes (when I think of what celebrity today I'm attracted to and all I could think of are athletes on Youtube since I don't watch TV, but a few days ago I saw Holly Willoughby in this video who I also like). Someone on t...

Re: ChatGPT and AIs

I asked ChatGPT what race has the largest mouth. It locked up. Closing the browser and starting a new session wouldn't let me log in until hours later. I wonder if a human reviewed things and gave me a pass. I asked, I think it was Bing Chat the same question and it just gave me some record holders ...

Butterfly nets are better than fly swatters

Title says it all. Cleaner if nothing else. Has worked well for me for years. Better with centipedes than some other insects like flies, but it works with flies too. Catch them, and run to the open door and hit the rim of the net on a fence or the ground or whatever. For today's bonus content, I saw...
