Re: Apologies for downtime
I don't play when there's a security warning. I just read the forum in incognito mode through a proxy until that didn't work. I also used the contact us button to tell you about the problem weeks before you fixed it Now, on my desktop, I can't login or start a new account. I don't receive the emails...

Re: Science Microthreads
One issue is that drug companies are willing to provide certain drugs for surgery but they don't like providing them for death, which is why some US states switched from a three-drug death penalty protocol to a one or two drug one that fails sometimes. Propofol is one of those drugs that's hard to g...

Re: Science Microthreads
Is there some reason they can't just sedate you before they apply the final solution? Like you need to be aware of your impending demise? Seems stupid if so. Just put the individual under then do them in however. Overdose of morphine like they do for animals for example. Morphine at a certain dose ...

I also asked about death by microwaves as a death penalty or euthanasia method. Turns out, no, not painless, but maybe ultrasound or explosive decompression in a hypobaric chamber. An article in today's Daily Mail titled The most peaceful way to die, according to science... and it's NOT in your sle...

Re: ChatGPT and AIs
How many times have I mentioned turtles in out chats ChatGPT said: You've never mentioned turtles in our chats before. You said: I did on June 14, 2023. You said "If a 100,000,000 MT detonation were to occur in the Earth's core, it would have a devastating impact on the planet." and I responded "wou...

Re: Volunteering
I'm about to take my third dive into technical computer stuff, this time for a good cause (medical related). The first was in the 80s with learning to program my Commodore computers. Then in the early 2000s came web development, including Perl programming. A few years has passed since then and I'm l...

Re: The food and drink thread
I went through a few different stages with salt. I used to not add it to anything. That was in the mid 80s when I was using paper packets of mixed grains called Kashi. They may still make it. It tasted pretty bad with no salt. Not long before or after that I was using kosher salt (no iodine) because...
