Re: Watcha doin? - a hobby thread

I attached something to wooden studs for the first time in my life! My old place I wasn't in long enough to have occasion to do that, and I had plenty of storage space without shelves. Before that I was in a NY high rise with narrow steel studs that, in modern times I doubt are used for attaching sh...

"Tyson, 57, 'became nauseous and dizzy due to an ulcer flare up 30 minutes before landing,' his representative said." I bet it's his heart and not ulcer related. Bet it's from training or performance enhancing drugs. People's hearts go through a change pretty quickly in their early 50s, and some peo...

In the last four places I've lived, second hand pot smoke has been a problem. Finding no-smoking apartments is difficult. ChatGPT says that both recreational and medical use of pot is illegal in Sweden and Iceland, and they have among the lowest rates of smoking. I'd seriously consider moving to tho...

Is it just me or is the site super slow (as in laggy) these days?
Not just you. I don't think it ever timed out though. You just have to give it a few minutes sometimes. Just now it took about 20 seconds.

I lived in NYC for over 50 years and never had a cannoli. That didn't bother me until I moved. I recently had my first cannoli in PA. I bought two small ones from Giant supermarket, The inside of the shell had chocolate coating and the package said vanilla cream, but the ingredients said cheese, so ...

Good article about the health risks of wood burning. https://undark.org/2022/03/02/wood-burning-stoves-raise-new-health-concerns/ I just skimmed through it so far, but the source seems good. When I stayed with a friend for a while in NJ, I smelled smoke every other day, and not from someone smoking....

I had an ant issue once, where they entered through a crack on the balcony, crossed the dinette, kitchen, and living room, and made a trail down the public hallway towards a neighbor who was on the Board of Directors. I put ant poison in the hole, caulked it up, and placed ant traps along the route ...
