A challenging communication thing that happened to me, or, why I avoid speaking to people
All of us suck at this though, right? But you can reply anyway. I have a college educated friend who asked me what a detector is when I said I got a radon detector. Was I supposed to respond as if she meant "what's radon"? I don't know her super well. I tried to cover all bases but not sure if I was...

Re: Child labor vs effective education - which is worse?
You mean ineffective education right? No. If money is no object and the experts can design any education system they want, like one teacher per underachieving student, and the best tutor after school, that would result in the most effective education possible, but it would make some students misera...

Re: Child labor vs effective education - which is worse?
Television, however, tends to eliminate the divide between childhood and adulthood, since its imagery offers a kind of undifferentiated access rather than using words to segregate audiences according to age or level of development. That applies to me. i think my vocabulary was better than most kids...

Child labor vs effective education - which is worse?
File this under unpopular opinions. Some students NEED to tune teachers out due to poor memory, attentiveness, and level of ability, and if they try to pay attention and learn what they can, it won't be enough to pass and will be a major struggle every day just for their failure. And effective home ...

Re: What are you watching?
Interviews with Michael J. Pollard and Joe Cobb. Kind of a slow or autistic vibe about them. Cobb, from the Little Rascals, lived a pretty long life but wasn't interviewed much. I researched Pollard a couple of years ago after seeing him in The Andy Griffith Show. He seemed slow in the episode. Look...
