I can live with some other fruit flavors or cola in a pinch but they are always a let down compared to grape/orange. If I am going to risk sending my insulin levels into or...

Re: What are you reading?
Every night, I've been reading some stories by Katherine Mansfield and Elizabeth Bowen. I'm really liking Katherine Mansfield's earlier stories. The latter seem a bit more focused on class, the earlier ones on love (I haven't read enough to be sure of that though).

I don't usually like that kind of thing but this was pretty good - even the rap of Il nous faut regarder . Here's a popular gem I only just discovered ...

Re: What are you reading?
It was such beautiful writing. The story of two people accused of witchcraft and how they are actually scapegoated for the town's struggles against hardship, disease, nature, the natives and also other colonists. Ironically, even the town founder and magistrate initially hearing the case, William Py...

Anabasis by Xenophon Thanks, I'll remember this one. I just finished reading Stephen Fry's trilogy on Greek Mythology and it was great (Mythos, Heroes and Troy). Re: Covid news and views
Got covid (first time). Despite being like a regular flu, I'm glad work has been slow because I felt sick all week and still do.
My senior friend and her husband, who I saw on Friday, got sick at the same time we did. They had to check themselves into a covid hotel because they needed taking care of.
