Re: Little Rants

Another problem with a low range hood is I've had condensation on it from steam, and it dripped in my pot. Hate it when that happens! Assuming you sampled your pot to see if the condensation had detrimental effects, I am wondering if it was the bang on the head that made you dizzy? The condensation...

I was slightly dizzy for the rest of the night. It took me hours before I figured out why. I was good by morning. Another problem with a...

Re: Little Rants

I guess I'm on Consumer Reports' email list. They sent me this: Consumer Reports has found plasticizers in 99 percent of the food we tested – including canned food, fast food, and even organic products – reigniting our call to get these risky chemicals out of our food. Our tests of 85 foods found th...

Purposes of foreign countries

I've often wondered "why don't they just become like us" ("us" being Americans). I still don't really know, but there's this: I've read lots of complaints about glass cookware exploding and injuring people. It's generally soda-lime glass. In the old days, borosilicate glass was more common, which ca...

Re: The food and drink thread

It's often suggested to let it dry on oven rack (once the oven cools) for at least an hour prior to storing it. I also cut bread into slices to help it to cool (mostly to lose moisture) otherwise it will mold much quicker. I would have but it was bedtime. I might have let it sit out in a paper bag ...
