Re: What's going on in your city/country/region?

Near me, an Dixie cup factory that had the world's largest Dixie cup on its roof for 60 years is being converted into a mixed use building. First the bread box and now this. This town is full of reminders of my past.

Bunnies roam the streets at night. One anyway. When I was staying with a friend in NJ I saw a possum in the middle of the night. I got upgraded to a bunny in PA.

Re: Thinking of ditching my bread box

My new apartment has kitchen cabinets with a built-in bread box. I had look it up to learn it's a bread box. I was making good progress figuring out where to put things but I still have no plans for the bread box. Potatoes and onions? Banana ripening? It stunk badly and I'd rather not infuse it with...

I'm trying to fathom why you may never use a gas range again. Have some states banned them?.
Yes, and if my new place has electric then by the time I have to replace it or move gas may be banned.

New York becomes the first state to ban natural gas stoves and furnaces in most new buildings

My move is very near and very surreal and my future is very uncertain. For one thing (not that this is a biggie), after next month I may never use a gas range again. And I may never use a community laundry room or laundromat again. I may never be able to look out my window and see a natural body of ...

Metal can heal itself.

Now we can look forward to lower safety standards. Maybe fewer mechanical fasteners and more one-piece casting, because the healing is on the nanoscale and it was observed only in stress crack.

Re: Bachelor Chow

This one looks like it could be good but it wasn't seasoned well and I ran out of oil. With grated cheese it would have been good. Fresh whole wheat pasta with red onion, spinach and string beans.
