I'm convinced working from home types aren't as productive if they are paid by the hour.
Hmm... one study I just read said the average worker is productive for 2 hours and 23 minutes each work day. Hard to imagine you'd be less productive at home.

Re: What's going on in your city/country/region?

Out most successful Com games ever, lead out by the cyclists who were a gift that kept on giving... (compared to all the ball bouncer teams who mostly crapped out). They were just talking on the radio about how awesome the Brummie crowds were... Must be what being like a big country at the Olympics ...

Re: Run-up to WW3

I don't have much good to say about Pelosi in general, but I liked that she went to Taiwan. Can't always appease these dictator types, it just emboldens them. Not sure about the timing. Probably political, the Dems seem to be trying to score some wins before the midterms (al-whatshisface, watered d...

Can anyone see a non retarded reason for Pelosi's Taiwan visit? It just seems like a very poorly thought out move with no potential benefit.
To push back the date the PLA invades Taiwan closer to 2035 when Xi has to have it done...

Re: What are you watching?

Comm Games... anyone else watching? Finished the indoor cycling and up to the ball bouncing... The cyclists recovered from Olivia Podmore's suicide last year and have turned themselves around and built a really solid team culture. Finished at the top of the medal table. Watching the mtn biking. Ant...

Re: What did you learn about in History?

The British Empire is the best thing that ever happened to NZ, and the world in general. When we got there the very sparse polynesian population was starving to death and located in small areas. NZ is what it is now soley to Britain. Yeah, there's still a lot of that English racist nonsense floatin...

Re: Run-up to WW3

That will be bad news for the Ukrainians as the Eurozone does not appear to be willing to pick up the slack if US support wanes. Hopefully, US military aid for Ukraine will continue despite the above, but it's a concern. I think the US support is fairly bipartisan (apart from Trump blackmailing Zel...
