If only someone was in contact with Utisz elsewhere and could tell him.

Seems it was running slow again. Didn't find any clear reason, so just restarted and seems okay now. Let's see.

I wonder if the threads with all the videos slow it down. Maybe split those threads up and block the old ones from more IPs.

...actually, I was thinking of the image dominos threads on INTPcomplex. Those pages loaded really slowly for me.

Me:
Why does https://intp.live/ load slowly again a week after the admin fixes it

Experiencing recurring slow load times on intp.live after recent fixes can be attributed to several factors:

Caching Issues: If the website's caching mechanisms aren't properly configured or are being cleared too frequently, it can lead to slower load times. Ensuring that both server-side and client-side caching are optimized can help maintain consistent performance.

Plugin or Theme Conflicts: Updates or changes to plugins and themes can sometimes reintroduce performance issues. Regularly monitoring and updating these components, and disabling or replacing those that cause slowdowns, is crucial.

Database Optimization: Over time, databases can become bloated with unnecessary data, leading to slower queries and page loads. Regularly optimizing the database by cleaning up unused tables, revising old posts, and removing spam comments can improve performance.

Hosting Environment: If the hosting server is under-resourced or experiencing high traffic from other sites on a shared server, it can affect your site's performance. Upgrading to a more robust hosting plan or a dedicated server might be necessary.

External Scripts and Resources: Third-party scripts, such as analytics tools or ad networks, can sometimes cause delays if they're slow to respond. Regularly auditing these external resources and removing or replacing those that impact performance is advisable.

To diagnose and address the specific causes of the slowdown, consider using performance monitoring tools to identify bottlenecks. Regular maintenance, including updates, backups, and performance checks, can help ensure the site remains responsive over time.

Well, at least it's being responsive for the time being.

Sorry about the site performance issues. I've tried to dig into it a bit. It's not a DOS attack or anything like that. It just seems to get bunged up after a while of operation with slow moving processes. Looking at the processes, I don't see anything weird. I have set a cron to restart weekly, but it seems that is not enough. For now I am trying to limit requests to a 60 second timeout, which might hopefully kill whatever is running slow. If you encounter a time out when doing something specific, let me know what you were doing when it happened. It's hard to debug as after restarting everything works fine again, so have to wait to see what the issue is. Maybe the process timeout helps, let's see. If not, there are more things to try.

700 guests in World doesn't sound right. You can try giving ever other guest that visits World a Captcha.
