^ not bad. Could we see it with the gradient reversed, dark in front and light in back?
I was also maybe gonna say something about the font.

Re: Work in progress ...
i'm gonna be pretty busy up til the end of the year but i'm willing to help with some of the graphics stuff if there's a clear concept sorted out.
as an offshoot from INTPx, this doesn't necessarily have to be seen as "competition" (participation on either forum doesn't need to framed as a matter of loyalty). this has the potential to be pretty different and i like the idea of actively nurturing this just to see what this can become. this could be an interesting experiment in collaborating and building something together, but if this doesn't become anything, there's nothing lost.
i think it's a good idea to move away from mbti. we can come up with something more fitting and unique, but good ideas usually take time. IMO we shouldn't settle with the first ideas we come up with. i like the concept/name "quora" and i agree that something like that could work for here. maybe we can identify some common tendencies/interests shared among community members and generalize those into something wider in scope that could work as an overall concept.
as for features/subforums/etc. idk yet but i'm imagining a place of casual self-initiated learning and sharing. i'd be happy to lead a nonfiction book club or something like that. i thought about doing that on INTPx but a lot of things there annoy me and i didn't wanna commit myself to there.

Nice!

Need to keep in mind as well the light/dark profiles (i.e., maybe one gradient works in one profile and another in the other). Currently it's one logo for all skins but I think they should be easy enough to hack to have different profiles.puerile_polyp wrote: ↑Sat Nov 23, 2019 5:10 pm^ not bad. Everything is super customisable (open source for the win). Font can be changed for sure. I will start a thread.
That would be awesome!jigglypuff wrote: ↑Sun Nov 24, 2019 1:07 ami'm gonna be pretty busy up til the end of the year but i'm willing to help with some of the graphics stuff if there's a clear concept sorted out.
Well put, yep!as an offshoot from INTPx, this doesn't necessarily have to be seen as "competition" (participation on either forum doesn't need to framed as a matter of loyalty). this has the potential to be pretty different and i like the idea of actively nurturing this just to see what this can become. this could be an interesting experiment in collaborating and building something together, but if this doesn't become anything, there's nothing lost.
I think if it's not going in the MBTI direction, it will need a new identity. That would be a pretty interesting discussion in itself. If INTPcomplex is to continue (and I have no doubt that it will) and this is to exist in parallel, it might be an opportunity to think of something different, i.e., INTPcomplex remains the INTP place.i think it's a good idea to move away from mbti. we can come up with something more fitting and unique, but good ideas usually take time. IMO we shouldn't settle with the first ideas we come up with. i like the concept/name "quora" and i agree that something like that could work for here. maybe we can identify some common tendencies/interests shared among community members and generalize those into something wider in scope that could work as an overall concept.
Sounds cool! In general I like the idea of giving different people the ability to create different spaces with different goals and to moderate them as they see fit, maybe like a federation of forum spaces. (Maybe that's similar to the groups in INTPcomplex; not sure.)as for features/subforums/etc. idk yet but i'm imagining a place of casual self-initiated learning and sharing. i'd be happy to lead a nonfiction book club or something like that. i thought about doing that on INTPx but a lot of things there annoy me and i didn't wanna commit myself to there.
I also really like the ntuit riff.
ntuit also kinda sounds like "into it" like talk about the things you're into.
Re: Work in progress ...
I love ntuit. Connected to the starting point of the forum, but fresh and catchier. Can we go with that one?
About the reputation points - it seems that I can't leave them? Also, I'm divided about the points being displayed next to member's information, but I think having the top-rep members listed on the first page is a bit much.

Re: Work in progress ...
I never really got any response to this idea but I like it so just throwing it out again -
Once we start generating content, it would be cool to weave posts into a type of blog along the lines of brainpickings.org. In other words, a more formalized/streamlined version of threads and the dialogues that happen within them. Normal people "get" blogs, even if they don't get forums, so it could serve as a stepping stone for them to reach this place and/or the main forum.
