Embedded screenshot is from the 2011 film "The Tree of Life", which may as well be about my father, whose entire life was defined by anxiety over fatherhood representing the abrupt termination of youth and the prospect of watching his children equal and exceed him representing an intolerable shadow of mortality from which he had to flee repeatedly, and me ... because I often wear black jackets while wordlessly touching inanimate objects in over lit rooms.
(and because despite all my resentment toward him and anguish over the obligation and desire to be a better person, I deviate from his template only by minor degrees and am hurtling toward a fate only marginally better than his own)
