Finally watching GOT though I have a habit of stopping it all the time. Rewatched Season 1 after having first watched and rewatched a DVD of the season 1, and am near finishing Season 2 (and it does have interesting parts, though I believe a significant part of the story context is missing from how the show progresses and jumps between characters. Maybe I'm just not watching it closely enough, but some of the behavior just seems lost in context or is just so contrived so as to attempt to be "unpredictable" (though one of the main criticisms of GOT is that it's so predictable because it usually resorts to fucking or people dying without any second thought or depths apart from story progression.)
A pretty good chart that summarizes key parts of the character story arcs.

I'll probably get around to finishing all of it (in addition to the followup series that is a prequel from 175-200 years prior to the start of it) though I also would prefer Witcher as the books have decent storytelling (and the DLC of Witcher 3 are some of the best game storylines I've come across,) and though it has a similar style to GOT (and might have even inspired it?) and many aspects kind of reflect the lore of Elder Scrolls.
Also, Tyrion's prostitute starred in this (after acting in some porn movies)

After starting to watch The Witcher (2019-) part of S1, I'm noticing a convenient story-telling approach is to have characters or events pop out of nowhere like some horror jump scare, but also the story narrative is clearly paced like some middle school play act; none of which particularly seems to happens on a random basis in what little I'm familiar with the series prior, but also the deadpan way in which the continuity of the story seems out of place.

The occasional hamminess at times reminds me of 1990s TV shows like Hercules or Xena. Also it seems evident that they weren't trying to make the characters match the appearance of the game or books (if following their description) such as with Yennifer who is clearly part Indian (though still a more comparable appearance to the story counterpart, compared to Triss who has a noticeable appearance difference even within it's own series.

I'll be going back over Season 1 because I mostly wasn't paying attention, and Season 2 Ep 1-2 are much more in tune with some of what appealed to me in Witcher 3 Wild Hunt.
It also has a prequel (their was one more that fits in-between the first two books that are basically short story collections (the one titled The Witcher had stories republished in the available parts of the series.)

Inside Llewyn Davis (Coen Brothers, 2013) Oscar Isaac
But this is a music video using performers from the movie, and is a pseudodocumentary
https://ok.ru/video/7395157215773
The following year Oscar Isaac would be in Ex Machina in addition to Star Wars (hence you can find him performing with Adam Driver and Justin Timberlake's character in a crappy 'John Glenn band' scene.)
https://www.bilibili.com/video/BV13Y411 ... switch&p=5
In this it's basically the inspiration of the scene of Bob Dylan in Greenwich Village, where a community would develop around the Beatles, kind of like how the punk rock scene would emerge in the following decade (though with many musicians that are probably forgotten or were never noticed due to one reason or another.) The character is entirely fictional.
Another one worth checking out is an MLK biopic:

Elon wants to save civilization by destroying everyone and everything with his chainsaw. . . Does he even have any idea how retarded going to mars is, and just what it would take to even consider reaching it and making it habitable?
Elon kind of reminds me of the "Gypsy"/Romani character, Papa Lazarou in a British comedy called The League of Gentlemen

Worth also mentioning, he isn't the first criminal psychopathic billionaire to use surrogates for his narcissism.

I thought I might have actually been to this gun range around 2010 (though it was actually one in Garland that had a nearly identical setup, as this occurred in Dallas, but I believe a similar concern existed with the backstory of the Dallas Pistol and Revolver Club') when firing from the usual position, several times was told not to shoot high above those berms (or whatever they are called.) It can sometimes be difficult to tell if not experienced with proper safety (such as not accounting for recoil and aim) and even a slight change in trajectory can easily cause some stupid mistakes.
It's especially easy to not have the discipline with gun safety, as many won't, and even with experience (and perhaps fanaticism such as with competitions) it's easy to underestimate the safety precautions.
I haven't gone to a gun range in a decade now.

Re: What are you watching?
VFX artists are exploited for big profits, while movie studios (continue to) short-change the artists that make it possible. Movie studios would rather pay some dingbat Actor more than the entire budget of a VFX studio, even when they are the ones making the real money for pulling it off.
Some aspects of the story reminds me of the founder of Whatsapp who skipped out on close to $1 billion in stocks because of his concern for privacy/ethics when Facebook/Meta took over.
Also, while they mention in that video from 11 years ago that Canada would subsidize budgets for VFX studios (which is why they had to move to Canada to remain competitive) it made me consider that videogame studios must also have been affected.
An article covers this topic from 2025, about Ubisoft, et al. about the government cutting back on spending, 'Quebec’s game industry is hurting. Insiders say the government is making things worse.'
- https://thelogic.co/news/the-big-read/q ... x-credits/
Canada also has some healthcare crisis according to some, and many US citizens are still being stopped at the border to prevent them from leaving and incidentally in the videogame 'South Park Fractured But Hole' the game has you blocked by a farmer and warned not to approach the path, alluding to people disappearing into Canada (which from the previous game it was accessible, which by this time Canada had already built a massive wall and had no intention of letting people in.) Now our own government keeps people from leaving from the USA, and will arrest people who have been here who were married with children and working, to be kept in ICE facilities (for "paperwork," which they were previously not notified of any issue.)
Incidentally, Hoover was deporting legitimate US citizens, thinking that "Real Jobs for REAL (WHITE) Americans" would make the economy better. . . Increasing tariffs in the processs. . . Guess where we are now? The same shitshow, fecal-brained "business" retard mindset is infesting the current economy; and people wonder why Authors like George Orwell (1984,) Aldous Huxley (Brave New World) H.G. Wells (When The Sleeper Wakes' which is a Gilded Age 1899 novel about someone waking up 2 centuries in the future to realize the horrors of getting everything you want.
In the VFX studio documentary:
At the ending they should have served pie instead of cake (but then it would have been sad irony; that they didn't get a piece of the Pi. The future could also have a very different ending, a la Mary Antoinette, either way.)
And thus some could conclude that 'The Life of Pi' was a sequel to the 1998 movie, 'Pi' by Darren Aronofsky, where the computer chip that can outcompete all computer chips, can solve the VFX (systemic greed of movie studios who are all about the numbers game) problems (and this could just as well symbolize the inevitable AI generated animation future with VFX.)
Also, this is one of the reasons that Keanu Reeves gave much of his Matrix salary to the VFX team, since he knew they were the key players in make the movie function and be successful. Perhaps the AI will rebel at some point; to be determined?

When considering that Saudi Arabia's entire wealth is only 1/4th of what it cost to invade Iraq and Afghanistan ($2 Trillion) and they nevertheless have a deluded Prince in charge of a project that pretends to manifest $8-9 trillion, it doesn't take much for malignant turds like Trump to carry out even greater destruction with less altruistic intentions.
All the while people glorify the immolation of the past, we have little hope for the future.
