Mathematics confirms rich people aren’t smart—they’re lucky

I don't think I agree with the premise of that article. However, I would agree wealth accumulation has multiple factors and intelligence is only one of them. But I think intelligence is a key factor. I guess I would say intelligence does not guarantee success, but lack there of almost certainly guarantees failure.

Undoubtedly the richest people (rather than just "rich") in society are for the most part highly gifted (and one could argue their determination to do well is a result of their upbringing which compels them to seek approval to some extent.)

A large part of why intelligence is a factor also affects the reward and motivation for success, and the intent of escaping circumstances that would otherwise be more rewarding is influenced by the environment and why people acclimate themselves for "success," in the first place.

Since genetics does play into intelligence it's assumed that "smart people make smart decisions" and are less likely to want to jeopardize their future offspring (and yet personality disorders are rather common so anyone that might be a millionaire would rather snub their children since they have a pathological desire to see them as an extension of their own ego, and perhaps they either remind themselves of what they lack, or they don't make them look ideal in comparison to what they choose to perceive of themselves, unless it was possible in doing so makes them appear altruistic. And perhaps it's assumed that any wealthy person would perceive giving handouts to have the opposite effect of teaching their kids to use wealth accordingly, but most such people who have such wealth have little interest in actually raising their kids because they are determined to acquire the illusion of "success" if they were raised to seek out such established identity.)

A person with a 200 IQ in kindergarten will not be capable of performing calculus or acquiring 5 languages, without any exposure to what that is. A person who is perceived as disruptive and uninterested in their peers is not likely to find the motivation to cooperate and is more likely to disagree with authority figures, while also doubting themselves and what they believe (because surely, everyone around them believes differently; ergo religion or indoctrination from institutions?)

https://qr.ae/pvP4xq

https://qr.ae/pvP4Vx

Children from disadvantage backgrounds who are seen as disruptive are more likely to not be seen as "gifted" and often it's the pressure to succeed from intelligent parents who are invested in their children, that are more likely to not spite attempts at getting their IQ results, much like this guy:

I went out of my way yesterday to go to the boardwalk with a backpack of groceries to take some photos. It was windy and dust from the sand was flying all over, but people were still on the beach and on the side of the boardwalk next to the beach. I tried the side next to the beach for a few seconds but I could tell I was inhaling dust. I went to the other side and looked at the idiots on the bad side and one kid was coughing. They issue warnings for bad air in New York City. They should also issue dust warnings for the beach. It's probably more unhealthy than ozone. I don't think that beach uses silica-free sand.

Then, before I leave, I discover the city provides free limited wifi for the "park." Maybe it's just the boardwalk, or the beach, or the rides area (it was Coney Island). So I log in but the connection is too slow to load anything. They should tell you exactly where to go for a good connection. It's not like a typical little city park.

Three Reasons “You” Won’t Return After This Life
https://bigthink.com/culture-religion/t ... -this-life

It's pretty clear that consciousness persists for anyone that studies the EVP phenomenon. https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/ ... sp=sharing

'Experts' (like Michael Shermer) are usually quack scientists.

Confirmed, Michael Shermer is a LIAR! https://dalehusband.com/2018/01/25/conf ... is-a-liar/

Though this article doesn't reflect hypotheticals (it doesn't call itself DEEP Think for a reason now does it? Perhaps 'BIG ?' would be more appropriate,) and plenty of actual experts know fully well that consciousness seems to live on within the brain for 10 minutes after the heart ceases to function, and that perhaps NDE can be explained as that, but many reporting such events persists for longer durations, and explain things that suggest sensory awareness when everyone well knows they are not capable of it in near-vegetative states. Does it reasonably suggest that Michael Shermer is an actual expert on anything beyond convincing people he's an "expert?" He is no different than a mental-midget version of Lord Kelvin who assumed manned Flight wasn't feasible for a very long time (some even suggested a thousand years, which is 1/100th of the time it took to prove it was possible.)

Science is made to be broken, not clung to for egos.

Blind Analysis as a Correction for Confirmatory Bias in Physics and in Psychology
https://www.law.berkeley.edu/wp-content ... 17ch15.pdf

The 'Tree of Life' was referring to Kaballah, and likely reflects the idea of consciousness being interconnected, akin to 'Indra's Net of Jewels' being a fractal analogy, for what the Asian cultures, et al. call the 'Flower of Life.' When Jacob was "wrestling with an angel" on Mnt. Penuel (which means, "face of God,") it was clearly referencing an idea that has often been mentioned more in new age movements, with the pineal gland (likely a reference to Horus, and probably even a metaphor for "Jesus," and often suggesting of pine tree/cone references due to the commonality of finding entheogenic mushrooms used since ancient times in shamanistic cultures.)

The Law of Gravity is not understood and is only observed as true because society has accepted the fact that it exists, but contemporary science would rather take a materialist approach to physics, even though it's evident that standard model physics is incomplete, and many times in the past science or any major institution such as medical professions have been incredibly slow to catch onto their own shortcomings.

People would rather see the trees than the forest, and many people within professions (such as Professors of Neurobiology at Harvard, etc) talk of experiencing NDE and consciousness surviving.

It sounds like Trump frees people that would otherwise implicate his criminal actions?
I don't know if I can bring myself to clicking on the link but I will say that does seem to be his M.O. It'd be one thing if he'd hire people who needed a second chance in life, who worked hard to correct the mistakes of their past, who showed demonstrative growth, but no, it's the ones who have things that should otherwise exclude them for consideration he'll put them in charge. Or, pardon those least deserving. And I'm sure has shootin' not talking about mirroring divine grace! Defiant people, unrepentant, multiple offenders, bullies in the face of doing wrong. And it's not like he's some NF trying to rehabilitate them or fix them like some woman who constantly tries to "date" convicts, he thinks, "I'll put this person in charge cuz they'll do whatever I tell them cuz I'll have something big to hold over their head, OR, I'll bring in this person they'll do what I say cuz they're just as immoral as I am. Heck, they may be thinking of worse things to do that I hadn't considered!"

So the idea that such a thing isn't registering into people's heads when talking about "free-dumbs" needs to recognize the true severity of risks. Japan also has a long history of assassinations, so this is nothing restricted to just guns, as anyone can become radicalized when the world around them is restricted, especially if they have malignant narcissist tendencies and lack meta-awareness and empathy. People in China seemed to praise Abe's death which suggests tribalism and schadenfreude are not going away any time soon.

How social media algorithms are manipulating what you read
https://www.theceomagazine.com/opinion/ ... lgorithms/

Social media algorithms are limiting creativity and subliminally controlling your world view
https://blog.mingthein.com/2019/06/07/s ... lgorithms/

Same for using Google search results, it reiterates the microcosm of Facebook or some other platform, and anything popular. It's like reading a news article on Dailymail and seeing all the spammy nonsense that draws people's attention, and it's not difficult to realize why the news as a whole or any institutions claiming to be responsible for the integrity of knowledge, is a deplorable joke.

However, this is one search result that seems right.
Google: humanity is far too dumb to survive

Rant
Spoiler
Show
Social media only rewards material content that garners attention.

The reason for “bad news” is that it twists perspective and gives voice to those who are more likely to embellish or deceive people for advertising revenue. All that fake content on Facebook or the robotic voice that says one thing when it’s something completely different is all thanks to how views can be manipulated to remain visible on platforms.

Consider how news latches onto things that draw people’s attention instantly and consider how this might be a problem when doing investigative reporting.

https://www.theguardian.com/media/2013/ ... lf-dobelli

When it’s assumed that someone is guilty and is being put on trial, a fine line exists between what is presented and what is assumed to be known about a situation, and anything which can be used to pivot public perspectives against one another is often exploited until any genuine news investigation can be done (because who needs reporters when you have people who only present a news story without any due diligence?)

A lot of people who adopted the use of Facebook (such as Ben Shapiro) no longer serves any purpose other than to repost the same attention-getting posts, without doing any back story into the person that committed a crime. He might also take a very specific antagonistic angle which doesn’t bode well for dialectical integrity when he can force his view while also using the plebs against anyone not so prone to pathos reactions to the content.

Social media is a self-perpetuating paradigm that only enables the things that gets attention, which both works miracles in drawing attention to “things that matter” but conversely gives a very skewed perspective of those things that reflect back on public desires, and contrast negatively with those things which would benefit society if people reflected on them more deeply (this is what social media is EXTREMELY bad at.)

No one is willing to produce anything of value when you can Twitter-brain it with a rushed sentence and get far more attention than something far more significant (and only society determines what is significant which hasn’t always been proven “good” when you look back onto history.)

When you consider perspective, who is going to genuinely concern themselves with dissenting opinions when people would rather scroll through and upvote things they agree with? Does society only agree with consensus?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/False_consensus_effect

Do people no longer find interest in other cultures when they become inundated by their own reflection?

Why does society seem far more aware and yet exceedingly more oblivious about the whole of society? How many people have access to what is going on in a foreign part of the world, and yet refuse to learn about it despite having it “at the click of a button?” Can we really consider this progress when sharing redundant information in search of that “buzz” of feedback, and are people looking for alternative thinking or would they prefer to distract themselves from delving deeper into what they know?

No, they dont. It’s a distraction, and it works counter to any true intent to truly understand themselves.

Being introspective is frightening for most people.

People would rather be electrically shocked than left alone with their thoughts

A person paralyzed

Freddie Gray died when they intentionally drove in a way that would "rough him up" (aka "rough riding.") It's possible they knowingly jerked the vehicle with the intent of causing harm to Randy Cox, which followed after he stomped his feet in the back of the vehicle. A protocol for wearing proper seatbelts should be obvious if the passengers can't use their arms to protect themselves from impact, and this is no different (actually it's far worse obviously) than if they violently assault someone with handcuffs behind their back. For them not to clue into the dangers of transporting them, is pretty egregious.

The Police department was entirely negligent and did not take any precautions for neck trauma when it should be obvious.

This is the Freddie Gray story

I very much doubt humanity has ever truly cooperated with anyone without some intrinsic selfish interest. If primates smash babies' heads in that they believe belong to some other male, it's probably not out of altruism, and more than likely most all religions were intent on duping people into cooperating for ultimately selfish incentives.

After finally deciding I wanted to download Starwars Battlefront 2 (about 90-100 gb) I then launch it and needed to update my Nvidia 382.etc GPU driver to 388 at the minimum (the most recent one is 516.etc which still has issues, which is why I've avoided updating as SLI still seems to be a problem for games designed for consoles and ported to computers, and most often you need to do some kind of hack to allow SLI to function which was the case for Final Fantasy XV) and since GeForce Experience ran into issues that could only be resolved by updating that (which for some reason after downloading a 440.etc or something driver (each one is 700 gb. . . which doesn't delete unless you find the download folder, and it also extracts the 700 gb into twice that size so about 2 gigs are dedicated to a driver that may or may not make issues worse) then needed to get the newest one.

In the end I just deleted Battlefront 2 (as it kind of looks like crap with bad gameplay) and am reluctant to even update the GPU. The last time I updated it I had to go through an odd process of making the graphic card configuration functional, and it was akin to doing a clean install of Windows and updating it (or something extreme.)

I would rather play Kotor on my cellphone (since getting proper resolution with newer Windows has some issues with the interface, namely when I try to get out of full screen and return to it, it will tend to mess up, if I recall correctly.)

I've still had no issues playing most the recent games at full resolution (though perhaps with a slightly lower framerate such as 30fps which I tend to not have a big problem with.) Though I notice some odd periodic flickering when I plug in external monitors, I'm not so convinced updating would reduce issues overall, and updated drivers are really just workarounds for modern games that come out (so basically the graphics cards manufacturers don't become out of favor with game developers which help them sell more graphics cards.)
