I just sold over $1000 worth of trading cards, because the world has gone mad and people are camping outside stores, fighting, and pulling guns over little pieces of cardboard.

That's weird, I literally just read an article on the NYT about how Target was suspending the sale of Pokemon cards because of this, and then came to the forum and read this post.

Yes, they (along with Walmart) are, the signs are already up (I live in the land of Target, they are /everywhere/ and by far the dominant retailer) and I couldn't be happier about it. People frequently line up to watch the vendors stocking the card products (they aren't managed by the stores themselves) for an hour or more, messaging their friends/card watch group chats to come swarm the store, obstructing product and check out areas. They tried moving to selling items only at certain days and times which just led to people camping out in the parking lot overnight. I would hate all of this absent an ongoing global pandemic, but in that context it makes me anxious and highly annoyed.

I am sick from second vaccine shot. So cold ... I feel alone. I'm afraid.

How are you doing today? I didn't get a Covid vaccine yet but I got the Shingles vaccine yesterday which is supposed to be worse, but I did fine. That was 23-1/2 hours ago and I had no bad effects except slight pain at the injection site when I raised my arm. It didn't prevent me from doing anything. I did all kinds of pre and post-vaccine stuff to prevent side effects and I guess it worked, or else it's just my body's natural awesomness.

The rant part is CVS didn't take my GoodRX coupon and I had to pay $200. In two months I get the second shot and that's another $200.

Oh hell no. Zero cents that makes. "When am I gonna get out from bein unda?!"

The lethargy has passed. We are safe! *back pat*

I just saw a Key & Peele reaction video and I couldn't tell for sure whether Key is black or something else. Then I saw some Google Images and I'm still not sure.

When I was a kid I knew Son was black but I thought Sanford was white.

I finally looked up Key on Wikipedia. "The son of black father Leroy McDuffie and white mother Carrie Herr"

I’m staying in my Grandma’s old house with my cousin getting it ready to be sold and all my extended family can get a nice check. We’ve been here for a year or so. One of the things that needs to happen to sell the house is getting the fence repaired. It’s blown over a couple of times and I’ve picked it up and cobbled it back together. I’ve been trying to get the neighbor to pay half and he keeps blowing me off telling me has a guy and he’s going to take care of it. The neighbor doesn’t speak enough English to negotiate with or at least presents himself as such. I’ve been listening to him on Punjabi speakerphone from dawn till dusk in his yard all fucking year. A month ago his fence on the other side blew down. His guy tore down the fence and for a couple of weeks there was nothing but landscape stakes and yellow tape between the two yards.

He finally decided that he wanted to do our fence (now that wood prices are astronomical. It would have been cheaper to pay for the whole thing myself a year ago). I didn’t want to use his guy because I didn’t want a period of not having a fence but he assured me that the fence would be up on Wedsnesday. I have a dog I don’t want to get out. His guy tore down the fence on Monday, demanded cash up front, left a bunch of shit in my yard and hasn’t reappeared since. On Tuesday night I was out walking the dog on a leash in my own fucking backyard when the neighbor started critiquing my landscaping and implying that I am lazy. I’ve never seen this fat jerk lift a finger over the course of the last year. The same dirtbag dragging his feet on the fencework does all his yard work.

On Wednesday I rang his doorbell to read him the fucking riot act and nobody answered.. He sent his wife today to tell my cousin that the fence guy finally got the wood and will put up the fence tomorrow. I’m skeptical. Meanwhile, I’ve been leaving my dog at my folks’ place while I’m at work because I can’t just leave the dog door open because there’s no fence. The neighbor practically lives in his backyard and I haven’t seen him back there since Tuesday and I want to put him on blast in the worst way. If this fence isn’t up tomorrow my head is going to explode.
