An investment firm from Chicago acquired the franchise from Texas and decided to expand. . . A similar thing happened with other hamburger companies. Personally, I've not been to a Whataburger in over 20 years despite driving by one nearly the entire time. I find it kind of strange how companies with nearly identical brands can exist seemingly independently of eachother, though I suspect some foulplay exist in the Carolinas (criticism of investment firms aside, and restaraunt franchises aside.)

I just clicked the Reuters headline and the article says "U.S. President Joe Biden mixed up the name of his vice president, Kamala Harris, and his Republican rival Donald Trump on Thursday as more of the 81-year-old incumbent's Democratic colleagues call on him to end his re-election bid."

So, now I'm reading he did well overall. Good on foreign policy. One headline said "but now he has to do 100 pushups" which I guess means he has to keep it up. He lathered and rinsed well. Now he has to repeat, and repeat, and repeat...

I had been using a smoker where it generated so much heat and smoke that a mini implosion caused the pan to fly off, as well as the hopper to start smoking (pretty common with Traeger apparently, and it's advised to open both the hopper and grill door with the 'smoke' setting to feed in new pellets and allow it to burn off part of the way. It recurred the second time I used it and an active fire was smoldering in the hopper, and I had water ready to cause it to dampen the pellets but it didn't do much more. I likewise would start a large fire in an outdoor pit when a major wind storm had knocked off a lot of limbs from trees, and it caused some trees to singe due to the heat. If it had been a more arid time of year those trees could have caught fire throughout the branches, which would be especially combustible. Very little would prevent the trees from not spreading fire to the rest of the area. Fortunately, I'm not usually absent-minded and am conscientious of the dangers of fire.

Somebody just tried (and failed) to shoot Donald Trump.

An article from the Boston Globe from a reporter who was there said Trump supporters blamed the media:

After Trump had been escorted to his car and people sensed the rally was over and they were safe, the crowd turned on the media.

The crowd was angry. Middle fingers were everywhere. They asked the press if they were happy and blamed the media.

“You did this,” they said to reporters.

I wasn’t sure of their rationale for such a statement, but they were looking for someone to blame. For a moment, it felt like a growing mob. I was separated by a temporary steel fence, but that wouldn’t help much if things turned violent.

It sounds like he was helped back up and he acted OK, but there were lies about the severity of his Covid, and when Reagan was shot, so who knows how bad it is.

We still don't know.

And if Trump gets Covid like Biden, we may not know. Maybe they're keeping the diagnosis secret because they discovered he has Covid.

Everyone's probably heard that Vice President Kamala Harris is running for president in place of Biden. Sounds good now, but you know what's gonna happen. Endless Youtube cat videos. Woman product Super Bowl ads. And if you think she wouldn't paint the White House pink, just you wait. I give it one month before you see pink paint cans piling up on trash day in front of the White House. May take a bit longer for the outside to be painted, but that's how they get ya. Bit by bit we'll be conditioned...pink clothing...pink podiums...then one day a pink White House.
