The first one looks great.
Where the heck are you now? I’m down here in South Dakota this weekend and thought of you. How’s life treating you?
I live in a woodsy neighborhood on Mount Diablo. There are farms and horse ranches in the neighborhood, but we're also very much like an island of old California in the middle of the S.F. Bay Area. I work for the City of Oakland, and that's where the pictures are from. Life has been treating me really, really well lately.
Here's a few more.
There are a lot of sites that archive these street art murals. While there's a code of ethics that people don't graffiti the murals, they get replaces every so often so the art is very transitory. Also, once in a while as the buildings get remodeled old art gets "revealed" and sometimes crowds of people come to take pictures. The oldest examples of art like this were usually commercial in nature, and there were some rather artistic and classic looking advertisement murals including ones for Coca Cola that were covered up for over a hundred years, preserved under a layer of new store front.
And even a mural of Madrigal's friend.
