"Got my first shot today! Got my second shot today! Booked in for my third shot!! I'm soo excited!!!"
One year later, "booked in for my 4th shot, got a free lottery ticket with it too!"
Two years later, "booked in for my 8th shot at Walmart and got a free headband! They work so well! I can't believe they're free!
Lolol Yeah, you don't sound like you're in a cult ... at all

Re: Covid news and views
Got my second vaccine. This time the injection was super slow and the very young woman who gave it to me sounded all shaky. It was like the pharmacist from my first Shingles vaccine who thought I was scared and went super slow. All the city-run sites seem to have young, inexperienced people.
I'll be better protected on Thanksgiving than the people who got it over 6 months ago. I hope everyone who needs a booster gets one. I have more time than most.
I finally went to a place that had a large selection of mason jars pre-Covid. Mason jars have been hard to get for a reasonable price, and even that place doesn't have any. Then I went for Italian food and got the smallest hero I ever saw. A few weeks ago I got the smallest broccoli roll I ever saw. I guess store owners are trying to save money.
Edit: same side effects as the second shingles vaccine. I woke up cold, dressed warmer, woke up tired.
Edit 2: this one was the worst. I had to rush to cut my pineapple because I had to get back to bed, then I started feeling dizzy and had to sit and put my head down. I just ate half a slice then went off to bed. I got up still feeling tired but I ate lunch. I intend to lay down again but the worst is over. I wonder how the booster shots will feel.

Booster shots every 5 months may happen. Thanksgiving is going to be a superspreading event if the boosters aren't available to everyone who needs them.
I was awake in bed for about 4 hours last night before finally getting a few hours of sleep. All that sleep during the day messed with my night's sleep.

I didn't think I qualified as immunocompromised but Mayo Clinic sent me a message informing me otherwise. I don't know why they think I'm immunocompromised, but I decided to just take my booster and run instead of questioning it. I'm flying to Belize next week on vacation and I appreciate the extra immunity. Sore arm, pretty tired the next day, but otherwise it was uneventful.starjots wrote: ↑Sat Aug 14, 2021 7:19 pmCDC just authorized third shots for immuno-compromised. My wife fits the bill due to medicine she takes, will visit the local Wal-Mart Monday to get another shot. Hopefully they got the news, I'd feel better if she were more protected.
My son and daughter in law came through town on way to a wedding. We (all vaccinated) went out to eat and talked for a couple of hours about COVID, vaccines (and other stuff of course)... in a restaurant with no mask with 25% capacity. Are we tempting fate? Trying to get a small case of delta before we go to Mexico? Balancing risks? Stupid? Not sure, but the chile relleno was excellent.

My mate did get the booster with only the sore arm to report. If it adds the smallest chance we'll grow old together, I'll take it.
