Edison murdered Le Prince? (not likely though Le Prince did demonstrate a motion picture device 6 years before Edison in 1893.)

Just read this: https://www.satnavmag.com/post/louis-le ... isappeared

"One commonly cited journal article claims an entry discovered in Edison’s notebook in 2008 states, “It has been done. Prince is no more. … I flinched when he told me. Murder is not my thing.” The claim continues that historian, Robert E Meyer of New York University, verified the writing was by Edison. However, a search reveals that Meyer has never published a single research paper, or even been mentioned on the New York University website, which includes both a current and retired faculty page. The notebook has no presence outside the article. It has not been verified. There is no evidence that Meyer or the notebook exist, and most believe it is a hoax.

*********** I'm concluding the above comment is accurate, as I'm not finding any results to corroborate it, and it's mention dates back to 2008. Someone would have already been in the news with the notebook by now.

The Disappearance of Louis Le Prince (pdf download available)
https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/a ... 2108701603

He is responsible for the first-ever motion picture (the one in 1887 is not technically film yet, but he would go onto patent a single lens motion picture camera the next year.)

A commentary (fictional?)

I have two of the #5 bottles with clasp tops (from the late 1800's.)

https://www.brucemobley.com/beerbottlel ... /seipp.htm

The ancestor is reviving the brand which closed up during Prohibition, along with recreating the Chicago World's Faire beer from 1893.

The Black Pointe Estate she's talking about: https://www.daily-journal.com/a-visit-t ... e3b6d.html

I'm reminded of the Vanderbilt wealth and the row of mansions the family owned in NYC torn down in mid-20th century, where only the Biltmore estate remains (with $6 million cost, apx $1.6 billion in todays money; and realize the Vanderbilt University was made with $1 million.) A lot of their wealth was lost when they didn't prepare for the estate tax, though are making millions (of the million+ visitors per year at $8 admittance fee, to there "village" and mansion connected to it's manufacturing.)

Evidently intergenerational wealth is a bit odd, and the inequality really seems apparent. The Uline company has a similar role, and probably more in connection to beer than Vanderbilt, as what worked for the business supplies company is not the same as modernizing beer as a product.

Vanderbilt on labor exploitation:
https://greedhead.net/how-did-cornelius ... t-workers/

He employed Chinese labor (though the strike connected to Vanderbilt happened a decade later)

***********************************

I also have had an 1880's publication of Abbeys, Castles, and Ancient Halls of England and Wales (second edition after this one which puts it on a different page--pg327--of the third volume for North) and it adds a lot of info from what I've read up on, namely that while Kendall castle was already in ruin someone was a squatter claiming relation to the family (which if true, apparently at this time no one legitimately was even related?) but also the condition of which Henry VIII nearly had Queen Katherine Parr placed in the Tower of London and burned after finding some "heretical" Christian books, and was being delivered to her by Wriothesley himself.

Page 224 has all the details.
https://books.google.com.vc/books?id=C7 ... &q&f=false

Wriothesley
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thomas_Wr ... outhampton

His torture of Anne Askew is considered related to how they intended to implicate Queen Katherine (that they would have something to use against her.) What I find odd is Anne was basically married (to replace her sister after her death) to a Catholic at a time when it was outlawed, and because of her strong Protestant views was kicked out and continued to be more radicalized.

The Fascinatingly Disturbing Life of the Muse Brothers (albino freak show "twins," one of whom died at age 108 in the early 2000s.)

"In 1899, the boys were about 6 and 9 years old when they never returned home. There are two versions of the story on how the boys were taken from their homes. One version stated they were simply abducted and told their mother had died. The brothers have confirmed that they had been informed their mother was dead, but that they never believed it and knew they would see her again one day. Another version stated that their mother, Harriet Muse, had put them to work in the circus with the expectation that they would be returned to her. When she sent for them, they were traveling the world with the Circus and she spent decades trying to get them back. The descendants of the Muse brothers have never accepted or confirmed that their mother made the boys work with the Circus as children."

On another note:
Wokou (Japanese: Wakō; Korean: Waegu), which literally translates to 'Japanese pirates' or 'dwarf pirates', were pirates who raided the coastlines of China, Japan and Korea

You can evidently tell they were intent on getting some pants at some point during their raiding.

https://www.alamy.com/wokou-japanese-wa ... 72617.html

And that might the how Waco, Texas got its name. . . maybe.

I'm glad I got to know you when you did that AMA, Catoptric. You're a cool guy. Although the coolness was aerodynamic to me at first. We humans need to get to know each other. Amirite?

I'm more flawed than most - it's on the endless path toward humility that I've learned to truly survive/live by being frightened by what I see in the mirror. Got to! I suspect I'll learn to emulate the folk on here some day. You know who your are munch munch *chews edible weeds* Actually I am thinking of all you guys and your significant others and stuff e.g. starman, Wolfenstein, the dude who burns in the kitchen, djm, Marvin the Martian, autoch-somem lol, u-god, sac town's finest, limeball, clayboy Jon ... and *beat boxes nonsense* Bar three mafia. So everyone except purile_polyp because he's a youngin'. (at least I think... jk) etc. I have a terrible memory.

I learn from you all. How you interact with me or don't haha :boohoo: ... because I'm too busy goofing off. I know people vibe for only a spell. Anyway I combined it all into a spiritual chopsuey that basically goes like this: Humility and pride have to be balanced by the Holy Spirit. Iterate rinse repeat - kinda thing.

King David was a straight up gangster and he knew he couldn't build God's temple because of it. Killers/soldiers intrigue me. Especially ones like him. Dude saw some things in his day. Peep how deep this is ya dig.

It's like when you know something and that's it. Like you can't go any further. Wack! Keep going. David Goggins who? He's onto something lol. (Thought I was a hater huh - I'm a motivational speaker)

During the 18th century a Russian woman gave birth to 69 children (a set of twins didn't live though.)

She likely named every one of them Borscht, so that people would offer them food when introducing themselves.

When I was researching genealogy, I discovered my ancestor would have had a General Store in this area, and it might have been right across the street from this. When the railroad was built they tore down buildings to make way for the trains, and the General store was one of them. The owner would have been George Parr 1850-1900, and one of his older son's Rufus Parr, was my great-great-grandfather who moved off to Tennessee after his death (and he returned to farming as his grandfather had done, while the land they would have farmed passed down to subsequent generations (though likely sold in the last decade) where they would have been buried (possibly on this spot 37.65954048443693, -79.88834631650316 which is considered a private property though the house on the far right corner before the river curves should be the land owners who aren't allowed to refuse entry, though since I've never lived in that part of the country I haven't been able to check it, and it's referred to as the Noffsinger-Reid-Parr Cemetery.) After the building was destroyed a church was helped to get established before George's death, called, Longdale Baptist Church off of Craig Creek, which still stands.

"The 2.6 meter (8.53 feet) wooden mannequin, clothes and armor of Bartlmä Bon of Riva are original to the 16th century. It stands now, where it stood in Archduke Ferdinand's time in the hall of Schloss Ambrass, Innsbruck. The amour was most likely made in the court workshop in Prague founded by Ferdinand II. Little is known about Bartlmä Bon, however it is known that he accompanied Ferdinand's nephews to the famous tournament in Vienna in 1560."

I find it very odd that so much evidence is against Fatty Arbuckle, and yet his wife at the time seems to have thought positively about him.
https://allthatsinteresting.com/virgini ... y-arbuckle
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Minta_Durfee
https://looking-for-mabel.webs.com/rappe.htm

Most of what Arbuckle says is a complete lie, as he was in the room she was in for 30 minutes, and apparently at the time Viriginia Rappe

Evidently the incident became part of our vernacular, with the words "buckle" and "rape" being commonly used. I also suspect "what's the skinny" was referring to the sensationalism regarding reports of Virginia's claims, along with the term rap/rappe sheet (where they tried to besmear her name by claiming she had a child out of wedlock, STDs, and was constantly stripping and saying she was getting hot, which might actually be true,) and probably even other terms have spiraled out from this time period where the term rap could also be synonymous with rape, but also it sounds more like Rappe; at a time when white people brainwashed themselves into being fearful of black people raping (or rather seducing) their women. This might not be true however, since the term originated in Jamaica and simply refers to the act of rapping to the music (not raping.)

Fatty arbuckle knew her for 5 years and operated professionally, but it didn't seem he had done anything with her until they got drunk during the prohibition era and it seems he damaged the room (photographed in disarray the day after.) It seems that in spite of so much coverage of the subject, you can't be entirely sure where yellow journalism or tabloids took off with it either.

The home of Clyde Borrow (of Bonnie and Clyde fame) was torn down.
https://oakcliff.advocatemag.com/2022/0 ... emolished/

It had been moved by a mule team from 810 Muncie Ave, Dallas, TX 75212 over to 1221 Singleton Blvd (still visible on Google Maps and you can get closer to it where just after 2018 it get's covered in graffiti and broken into), where it had been used as a gas station following Bonnie and Clydes death.

Clyde Barrow Gravesite in Ft. Worth

Also buried their was his older brother Buck Barrow who was shot in the head, while his wife Blanche was being held back in horror at witnessing it (and being taken into custody.)
