A decent Youtube channel with variety of cooking methods (sous vide, soup stock and practical adaptations for variety.)

https://www.youtube.com/c/helenrennie

She went over a tutorial on cook pans

She seems like she'd be very helpful! Will watch some of her videos. A bit bummed that her videos aren't like 5 mins & under. It's not that I don't have the attn span to watch but not always the time to watch and not feel like I should be doing something.

Crepes are something I've yet to mess with, but I'm always reminded of it, and I was oblivious to buckwheat being used, which originated in Brittany (NW France).

He also featured this guy who has decent videos (or rather, he does some odd stuff and goes to extreme lengths just to make "the perfect meatball," and I've not watched any other videos, and sort of forgot about him even though I subscribed to his channel.

So here's a real vegetarian recipe, compliments of the internet. I made it almost exactly as stated with two club sized zucchinis that we despaired of finding a use for. The key step that's easy to overlook is sweating the water out of the shredded zucchini with salt. Don't skip that. It's excellent, we ate it with ketchup instead.

That looks soooo good! Gonna see when I can try it.

I recently made this really nice stew with lentils, carrots, peas, onion, red bell pepper, butter, white wine and merkén. I cheated because I put chicken stock in it but I think I might stop using those stock cubes entirely. I suspect I recently had a bad reaction to MSG and I'm contemplating removing that from my diet.

The MSG thing was this powdered soup I just made to have something warm to drink since it's winter here. Should've just made myself some green tea, holy crap. I immediatly got a headache and indigestion. This didn't used to happen to me before, but I think my body is becoming more intolerant to unhealthy food.

Come gather ’round people

Wherever you roam

And admit that the waters

Around you have grown

And accept it that soon

You’ll be drenched to the bone

If your time to you is worth savin’

Then you better start swimmin’ or you’ll sink like a stone

You get the point.

Speaking of seasons which one is your life in? Summer I'd imagine. Enjoy the weather internet buddyo, you'll be fine. Buy a bathing suit and a tube and drink something refreshing. Also, after your cat left I moved in with a roommate who owns a tortie/tabby cat. Her name is Tiger. So much synchronicity going on.

Spanish Octopus
https://www.allrecipes.com/recipe/25948 ... h-octopus/

Earlier I had a cloned Goose Island 'Bourbon County Stout'
https://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/1146/10672/

I'm reluctant to pay $14 for a bottle even though I only recently found it available in stores. Also, the place I would have bought it from had a son who opened and closed 4 different craft beer growler stores (the kind you can also sit down to try things and then buy a growler or refill one.) One of the reviews found online for some reason links to a drug and alcohol rehabilitation clinic, which I suspect the guy ended up in, as when I looked at Facebook posts he had this douche-looking (sharp angle?) weird sideburns and glasses thing going on like he was some thrill-seeking derp that was wanting to fake his way into his own delusions. I can imagine he has an account on Reddit Wallstreet Bets where he posts a bunch of retard chimp memes. YOLO!

Never jump on fads, and I suspect he also was into crypto. The beer shop started also selling pot paraphenalia; and the shop is owned by an Indian dude (or Pakistani.) He has this avoidant approach to interaction, even though I've known the guy since I was 14-15 working the restaurant in a gas station (another mindless business concept by another Indian dude which closed down because he was doing a lot of stupid things, and I had left it a year or two before, and though it appears to have been reopened, the Church's Chicken franchise they had paid for turned into some weird rehash with their own Bay Leaf name concept, and it just degenerated from doing extremely lax management and over purchasing chicken like a MOFO, along with adding an expensive heat lamp that was placed near the drive through instead of walking 5 feet to the front, which would likely only result in throw-away if abiding by the business flow available at the time.)

Have you made this? I forget where I was, maybe Costco, and they had octopus. I knew I could come home and find recipes on teh internets, if I didn't already have recipes in books but I wasn't that curious to buy. I guess the cost didn't scream, "Oh man, try me!" I'm not sure what it normally runs for. I know I've had some in the past in restaurants but I couldn't remember it. I'm more reluctant to do something like that for just myself. I've had people over since the start of the pandemic fixing octo seems like more of a special occasion if not date move. At the time there was nothing. Like, I'd do it for a Super Bowl party or holiday party or even a movie night, though I'd want to show a film that'd have more of a octopus tie in. I think I had friends over to watch Jaws during its 40th year anniversary. Surprisingly, now that I think about it, I didn't serve shark. I don't know what I was thinking! I'm pretty sure I had Coors Light on hand when I had people over to watch Smokey and the Bandit. It's regular Coors that's featured in the film but honestly I can barely get that stuff down.

Anyway, is octopus really similar to calamari? I saw some of that at Costco. I have no doubt I could eat a ton of it but still a lot came in a package and without having set plans for people to come over, I didn't want to get any. Though I saw some recipes and sauces I want to try for it. Which, unless octo is cheaper, not sure why I'd go with it over squid?? Not saying one is better than the other, I have no idea. I guess if I'm gonna spend money on something "fancy", I'd prefer to go with what I know to work.

I don't think octopus is similar to anything, but if you want to spend the money on what octopus tends to cost, you probably want to do your research before cooking it. Doing it wrong can get you gummy, tough octopus.

I'm allergic so I can't have it anymore, but I'm not sure I'd want to eat such an intelligent animal anymore anyway. My grandmother was Galician and made octopus pie all the time.
