I've seen strip malls in areas that seemed to never have people using the spaces, and it's a weird kenopsia ("eerie, forlorn atmosphere of a place that's usually bustling with people but is now abandoned and quiet".)

Basically, that computer store existed at a time when such companies dramatically shifted from storefronts to online, and few if any ever bothered to assemble their own computers.
