Seen on the internet
Re: Seen on the internet

Not sure I will mess with it (I would mostly just look at video of gameplay, rather than actually play it, to see what it looks like. The big raid quests were really old-style internet games, and the newer versions completely destroyed that social dynamic that made such things interesting.
I think what was happening is, to arrange for raids took far too much time, and when people got bored they ganked on the "noobs" that would be trying to go around and gather resources or quests, so it impacted the game experience. It's another reason in the following expansions they gave you the chance to start off at a high level, and skip over the earlier game. Though I could just as well go back to my earlier character (I think I stopped at/or before Mist of Pandaria.
The newer system of grouping with different servers made it much easier to just continue the gameplay and it was less cumbersome. The games still don't look that different from the original, and the advertising for the game looks almost identical to what came out 20 years ago.

I suspect Southpark had a lot of really negative effects on redheads. . . Also, they are really biased. I actually was wondering in that last video if he was making satire (because he is a bit fat. . . It's almost like he lacks self-awareness, but his behavior is also reflective of someone who has emotional dysregulation, that might have been traumatized by feeling discriminated against.)

An increased trend of satire Facebook groups is on the rise. I was reminded of the above with this post.

Too intelligent people tend to have following traits:
They can be extremely hard working but when their hard work does not reap desired results they can choose to be extremely lazy.
They can excel at academics and yet at times they may choose to be just an average or below average student barely getting passing grades.
They tend to have several hobbies.
They like to spend time on self improvement rather than getting social.
They know their limits and know how to set boundaries.
If they make a mistake, they try to correct it as soon as possible.
They are not ashamed to admit and apologize for their mistakes. But, if after evaluating themselves several times, if they find that mistake/fault was committed by the other party, they demand apology or reparation from the other party regardless of what position of authority the other party holds.
They like all things to be done in the right manner and so they like to do most of those things themselves.
They are very responsible. Intelligence is power and with great intelligence must come great responsibility
They can be very sarcastic or very polite depending on how others treat them.
They are curious.
Consequence of being too intelligent:
They are able to renounce everything taught to them by the institutionalized education system.
They are immune to any sort of propaganda.
It is very difficult to fool them.
They know all humans are equal. No human or institution is superior than other.
They defy tyranny.
They don’t feel inferiority complex. Ever.
They are able to demarcate all facts from lies by just a cursory glance.
Thinking capabilities of really intelligent people are not limited to “outside the box”. Intelligent people think outside “every limitation set before them.”
They believe in natural life.
They consider natural laws superior to man-made laws.
They value their health more than the money.
If all their basic requirements are fulfilled, they get satisfied easily. This means they don’t keep much expectations from others.
Worst thing about being too intelligent is that they only value real things. Real food, real water, real nature without contamination or poisoning.
Too much intelligence means too many enemies. Governments and institutions despise intelligence because they need people to be gullible in order to rule over them.
How to know when someone is NOT intelligent enough?
If they like getting rich by stealing resources, labour or ideas of others.
If they need to compare themselves with others .
If they consider accumulation of money is of utmost importance.
If they get jealous at intelligence of others.
If they desire eternal youth or immortality.
If they are easily enraged by religious or political provocations.
If they frequently need guidance of others to solve their problems.
If they don’t have their own thoughts.
If they blindly follow what others say or do.
If they are easily deceived.
If they consider that their academic performance is the only thing which can ensure their success.
What can one do if they are too intelligent?
You can’t fix something you are born with. Intelligence is part and parcel of your being. There is no way anyone can fix it. Propaganda and false information may temporarily deceive intelligent folks, but they figure out the truth eventually.

Whether they just blindly accept someone elses story or don't realize how vulture capitalist firms acquire properties and then "sit" on them (and people who are criminals like the story she presents aren't likely not to notice and then use them for the kinds of activities she claims.) Whether people listened for more than a minute, I have to wonder.

I'm thinking they might have used editing software because it looks easily tampered with, and if such objects respond they are more apt to flash in a pattern than to use other means.) I'm ashamed to admit it, but I was that deranged fan. I was upset at the direction Ultima IX was headed in and the delays due to the popularity of Ultima Online. I was disinterested in the 3D engine, instead wanting a more classic Ultima feel to the game. My letters to Origin Systems and posts to an Ultima newsgroup all went unanswered.
I first met Richard in 1994 at a gaming convention. It was here that I learned The Lost Vale was postponed--most likely indefinitely. I jokingly asked Garriott what the best hypothetical method of breaking into his house to gain The Lost Vale source code might be. He laughed it off, but I was dead serious.
I was only 16 years old at the time, and I naturally had hesitations about committing my first crime. I waited patiently, planning the perfect break-in, and even attended one of his haunted house events to jot down a map of the facility. I joined an Ultima Online cult, and successfully conspired to murder Garriott's avatar Lord British. I even went so far as to date Carly "Lady MOI" Staehlin in order to get insider information on Garriott.
When the time came to execute my plan, I drove my father's 1985 Ford Ranger to Garriott's estate and waited for the last of his guests to leave. I hopped over a retaining wall and scoped out the home for a few minutes, trying to determine which area of the compound Garriott was in. It took about thirty minutes, but then I saw him--second floor, in a study, watching television. There was a trellis leading to an adjacent window; I climbed it with haste, and proceeded to finally sneak into the home.
I waited outside the study door for about ten minutes, waiting to ambush Lord British himself. I grew very impatient and desperately needed a restroom. I found one in the fifth door down the hall from his study. When I was finished relieving myself, I flushed the toilet without thinking. I panicked and began to sweat profusely. Garriott obviously heard the flush. Garriott, in full Lord British garb, kicked open the door and pointed his uzi directly at my pale, sweaty face. I tried to run, but he fired warning shots.
I spent the next six months in jail and was put on probation and forced into community service. When I was finished serving my time and completing my probationary services, I moved to Irvine, California, where I got a job at Black Isle Studios. It was there that I met Jessica Urquhart, hot sister to the founder of the company, Feargus Urquhart. But that's a story for another time.

Re: Seen on the internet
https://www.wimp.com/the-harvard-secret/
In 1999 it cost $1.99 per hour to play this Splatterball game (and it might have been focused mainly to AOL subscribers which infamously was known to have people paying hundreds of dollars per month if they were addicted to the internet.) This game came out the same years as Everquest which was I believe $7.99 per month, and was 2 years before Runescape and five years before World of Warcraft, which would be unlimited for $15 (which still seems like too much, but it probably had a lot more replay value.)
Around the same time people were still playing these games called MUDS (Multi-User Dungeons,) which weren't too different from games that were coming out 20 years earlier.
https://www.topmudsites.com/
Of course even then, Splatterball seemed inspired by the Quake franchise, which would have come out 3 years earlier and had been popular with LAN users, if not the Unreal games. Quake 1 Multiplayer seems to still be functional. . . (and was always free?) The graphics still look better than Splatterball.
The game can't have been very successful unless people who were playing it assumed the cost was per month, and I'm thinking also of how at that time credit cards were being used to get access to porn websites under the fraudulent claim it was being used to verify age, during the 1990s that requested credit card numbers in place of age inputs, which seems people are still getting paid back for (apparently the early internet was a place that people who would have had a tough time making it in any regular industry would turn to the internet as a pioneer of criminality, similar to the snake oil Salesman of the Wild West.) I was not quite dumb enough to use a credit card in such a way, though I can see how I might have been dumb enough to do so, much as a kid would have probably used their parent's credit card without telling them about the cost of playing Splatterball (and who the heck even hears about paintball gun anymore, which is what the game would have been inspired by?)

It never occurred to me how similar the movie Elysium was to the Cyberpunk 2077 game.
Some argue that Elysium took story components from the original RPG board game, but I wouldn't be surprised if Elysium inspired a lot of the visual style in the video game.

Most likely it's fraudulent, though I'm wondering how much of this is groupthink, and how much is people participating and being conditioned to somehow not realize they are complicit in their own misdirection (if not outright fraud of others?) Could one person be in the circle that tilts the movements of everyone else involved and while they are holding arms together don't realize their collective muscle reflex is tilting them towards falling (a bit like the deception found in seances?)

The original inspiration might have been the band Aqua, where their Barbie Girl (in her Barbie World) female to male voice overlay kind of mimics the style of the above. ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZyhrYis509A and incidentally the actual band page asks if this was kind of making fun of their style of music in addition to how the trend of replacing band members on a whim was common practice; considering also the barbie world song probably made a comeback with the movie, but also because of things like Tik Tok, the trend of the song was probably rather a obvious one.)

It seems like around 2000 BC that civilization dropped off the edge and didn't find itself again for nearly 2000 years. Certain aspects reminds me of the Japanese indigenous culture of the Jomon (and I tend to think, pre-history culture have been a large inspiration when imagining what an alien civilization culture would be like, because it exists prior to modern society contaminating how we traditionally identify with as a society.)

A free game was just released on Steam called Nightmare Kart.
Some aspects can seem frustrating but the game can easily be beat within an hour and a half once it becomes obvious what you need to do at some portions.
Some evident inspiration behind the game is the PS1 era (as well as SNES and N64) Mario Kart, Twisted Metal, Legacy of Kain Soul Reaver (in character design on Dreamcast,) Soul Edge/Blade and the Edge Master Mode on the console where RPG elements are introduced where you get rewarded different weapons (and in this case karts you can then choose from.) Some gameplay elements are a bit odd and the interface is extremely clunky (which adds to the frustration at some times) but otherwise it isn't too bad. I wouldn't care to replay it, though it does stand out as pretty decent (and since it was made through Patreon donations, I'm wondering if this made it difficult to monetize.) I also see a little bit of Castlevania and perhaps some Zelda elements (or perhaps just Japanese game and art design.) One thing I noticed at the beginning is the music credits seemed to be given to someone else but once you beat the game a different person is referenced (so perhaps it was just the intro music?)
If it was ever released at the time of PS1 it would have undoubtedly be considered one of the better games on the system, and it is very reminiscent of that time, which seems odd in this day when things could be improved somewhat better.
