AI generation - Midjourney

Another video of a vintage muscle car at night in a city
https://www.reddit.com/r/midjourney/com ... _and_then/

A pretty shockingly realistic "music video" that looks more like a trailer for an Asian/Japanese film (a young woman wearing an astronaut suit.) You can kind of tell it's AI but it's still pretty neat.

Black nightshade has solanine which is toxic (and I've been occasionally eating the fully ripened black nightshade berries which are considered safe in small quantities.)

I was looking up the Indian word for black nightshade because apparently in their culture they place unripe berries in yogurt for a long time in a process that is intended to reduce the toxicity, they will dry it out in a mixture called a vathal (and you can buy dried nightshade berries on Amazon for about $30+ for 100 grams. . .) which is used later to be cooked into dishes (and the website even lamented the likelihood of the practice of using things like black nightshade being phased out in favor of more "safe" ingredients https://www.paticheri.com/2023/05/17/ma ... berry-jam/ )

But I found something else where they place the toxic stems into a soup.

Even if you cooked this fully, and even if you cooked it for a long time, the heat does little to destroy the toxicity. This is one of the reasons that tomato plants are considered toxic and why they had such a negative reputation throughout history, because animals would eat the plants and associate negative things to the plant and would fear eating the tomatoes themselves.

"Glycoalkaloids are heat stable. Alpha-solanine breaks down in temperatures between 260°C and 270°C (500°F to 518°F)."

Other temperatures claim:

"(solanine) withstand cooking at temperatures up to 200°C (392°F). or Deep frying at 210°C (410°F) for 10 minutes: Causes a loss of about 40% of solanine (so 60% of the toxic ingredients remain.)

****

Solanine is the reason you will feel a slight tingle (similar to an allergic reaction) to eggplant even if you cooked it for a lengthy time. . . apparently, things like eggplant parmesan where you place kosher salt on it and then wring the water out of it, isn't done simply to make it easier to fry and then bake, but it also helps to remove much of the water that contains solanine, and any amount of cooking it a high temps won't really do much to reduce the effects (you will still feel a slight reaction no matter how well you cook it.) That Indian dish probably helps give the face a nice reddish complexion. . .

Blood Omen Legacy of Kain was only recently released on PC (though it seems it did come out on hard copy briefly in the early 2000s) and can be picked up on GoG. A mod for the game to make it into 3D exists, but it seems like it's only a small part of the entire game. (Why is the guy in the video French and yet the website is Russian?)

Wasn't the Statue of Liberty designed completely from scratch without any input by the US government (and it took a while for the US to accept it because it was kind of not planned for install?

Most of the social media shares are likely dubious bullshit. I'm not seeing anything on secret "engines" (generators?) being installed or hypothetical trap doors used for purported human sacrifices, and believe it's a bunch of confabulated BS.

Real documentary on it.

THE STATUE OF LIBERTY AND ITS SECRET STORIES (non-conspiratorial)
https://piccolanewyorker.com/blog/2018/ ... et-stories

Interestingly, the torch part has been inaccessible since 1916 when Germany caused a freight train explosion while we were neutral, in what would be now $560 million in damaged munitions being supplied to Britain at the time.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Tom_explosion

https://www.quora.com/Does-the-statue-o ... ecret-room

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Statue_of_Liberty

A statue of Freedom was made prior to the Civil War, which was not based on an African American gaining emancipation (and whether there was a prior model for the actual statue based on this idea, seems unlikely, as it had clear sol Invictus inspiration which predates Jesus and probably has some basis in numerous cultures at some point.

The video eventually moves on to a Realtor and the doors opening, which I was thinking she should have experimented with the door not closing fully and possibly being on a pivot that causes the door to open, but too much weird stuff had been noticed before and after that video was made (including the smoke detector falling off randomly while she's investigating it being haunted.

A later video:

Some things make me consider it could be fake (in fact it seems too likely to be acted out but I am curious if it has some EVP, which incidentally you can hear at about the 1:45 second mark what sounds like a "Spirit Box" as he's walking out of the bedroom and a little girl's voice saying, "I am Satan," and then "do not do anything" and then changes to an older Indian male voice, and some other possible voice acting, before doing the static noise (and without knowing the back story of the video it's possible someone was just playing a trick to get them to stop playing music at night, or he is just doing this to play a trick on the viewer,) which is noticeable with headphones. The TV doesn't seem to activate in any possible way that makes sense even from a paranormal sense, but if real it would require a bit more of an explanation (there always seems to be a strange absence of followup from people, and the channel that uploaded it went silent after uploading in 2010, with no prior recordings of playing the keyboard (suggesting he was active in recording and possibly uploading, and this might just be a youtube channel that took the video from somewhere else just to share it by reuploading, and has since stopped logging into the channel.)

If a ghost was actively trying to get them to shut up, it seems that such a scare tactic wouldn't go over with as much activity all at once (and the voice that is picked up sounds like whoever recorded knew they were just making something that could get people scared, which was a common theme around this time on Youtube,) but it could be they had seen some indication of activity and decided to start recording, which is when all this crap happened, but it seems like they've been living in the house for awhile up to this point judging from how it appears? Also, some commenting on the dark figure in the corner suggest it's some kind of plant, but it doesn't seem to have leave branching out.

The later video at the Sanitarium were probably faked (the claim that he was getting his gun out is a total lie, and he was prepping the viewer for what could only be seen after he was saying "can you see that?" and then proceeds to walk down without calling out what he claimed to be a person (only if it was visible to him, it's clear it was some white looking anomaly if he was even telling the truth, which I doubt.) The erratic camera movement is because he was altering the image frame sequences with the fake visual anomaly, and was probably using the weird asterisk graffiti as a reference point for how it would match up.

******

This underwater exploration of a boat was pretty interesting and seems to suggest something paranormal with the wreckage. After they return underwater (because they did seem to notice something audible with a little girl sounding like she was struggling to get saved from it) you can hear an EVP that sounds like "Be thoughtful" at 1:19 in.

Particularly bad translations of the comments, and unusually negative comments. Middle eastern humor is different. I'd like to see it posted by an American to compare comments.

I've yet to look into it much but usually the earliest reference to speech to text is Dragon Naturally, which I had software included with a Sony voice recorder, and it seemed irrelevant to even use the software on account that it was too much hassle to mess with.

I'm more tempted to try it again with a better recording setup (and I might have the old software, but it's possible it wouldn't even run on newer Windows.)

It seems absurd that most of the overpriced software requires subscription fees now.

Old Navy has loose fit t-shirts on sale for $8. I put the ammonite and slate mist in my cart. Not sure what the shipping cost is yet. I tried to see how much cheap Modell's T-shirts cost these days but their website didn't work last night.

Never mind...the regular t-shirts are only one dollar more. I was going to size down on the oversized ones but it looks like the shoulders would still look oversized based on the model photo.

So yeah, I don't do graphic or pocket tees.

...I placed the order! It's been a while since I ordered new shirts. They last pretty long.

On the site about nothing that I was pondering trying to recruit members from (https://tildes.net/), someone posted a link to this:

https://floor796.com/

You can drag it around to see more scenes.
Floor796 is an ever-expanding animation scene showing the life of the 796th floor of the huge space station! The goal of the project is to create as huge animation as possible, with many references to movies, games, anime and memes.

Most of the characters are clickable: you can find out what kind of character and follow the link to the source. Non-clickable characters are fictional.

All scenes are drawn in a special online editor right in the browser by one person, as a hobby. You can watch the process of drawing some blocks on youtube.
