The comic industry has its share of outsiders that have surprising success, though this one seemed to have influenced DC comics getting into niche genres, similar to how mainstream beer companies started their own variations of "craft" options.

One of those trash movies that has stuck in my mind far too long.

The Stuff (1985)

One of these apparently opened in Dallas (the only one currently remains in Las Vegas) and Dallas protested in 2011, resulting in it closing (along with it just being really shitty.)

If you look at the map ( 1722 N Market St, Dallas, TX 75202 ), in its place was a BurgerIM which had some major fraud with Franchisees, when the company was already facing insolvency and pressuring people to sign up.

At 10:00, not sure if that's the backseat driver's idea of "breaking free," but it is what it is. . . Also, considering the circumstances, it's probably good his feet weren't where they should have been, because the seat appears to have scrunched up on impact.

The Policeman could have probably done something slightly different such as pull to the side and requested backup to deal with him and place him back in handcuffs (or if the suspect had simply incinerated themselves and not been allowed out of the back seat, maybe in the end, it really is what they wanted?)

Why do government contracted vehicles have such shit reputations?

Super Dimension Fortress: Macross (1982) (AKA part of the Robotech series in the USA)

If you come across Megazone 23, the direct translation version of the Japanese is very different from the localization for American audiences. A 'Robotech - The Movie' aka Untold Story incorporates Megazone 23 and the beginning interaction goes from inexplicable stranger to a guy meeting up with someone to take them to an audition, where she offers him a phone number to contact someone to enter the entertainment industry (instead of a booty call which is partly why he was eavesdropping on her "audition" when it turned out the Producer was doing a casting call with all the Harvey Weinstein vibes, which she nevertheless get's upset when her acquaintance sort of cock blocked the guy.)

I'm trying to sort out the confusion with another series called 'Space Battleship Yamato' (1974 Manga turned Movie in 1977 which spun off Yamato II and III, which is similar to how the Lupin series was serialized) aka Star Blazers (1979) in the US when the series was only intended to have one season and had a movie that was supposed to be the end of it. Usually, I find these are better off just getting the recap movies so as to eliminate any confusion, but then it usually get's into more questions about how the story actually is intended to be represented.

I was hoping the compilation video at the end of this Yamato/Starblazers III had English Subtitles (though apparently the season itself has matching ones)

It's crazy how this movie reflects similarities to what happened with the tranny shooting up Joel Osteen's church (which by some comparison is a cult.)

https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/love_exposure_2008

I also strongly suspect this movie influenced the Yakuza Zero game which incorporates a cult in the main story. . . The Zero being the name of the cult in the above movie, and what might have inspired the series (a surprising number of parallels are very evident in many of my favorite game series, especially Xenogears which probably has at least 5 or so movies or books (that were also made into movies, such as Dune) that inspired the story. Red Dead Redemption 2 is another game that I've started to study western films, due to the influence of the game.

Sean Connery made a Robin Hood film?

(I actually do remember seeing the intro but I think I stopped watching for the evident absurdity of the story.)

I think I remember him saying something about it in an old interview, but never really remember it.

Errol Flynn is generally considered the best Robin Hood, for a reason, and he also did this movie,

'The Sea Hawk (Michael Curtiz, 1940) Errol Flynn, Claude Rains, Brenda Marshall'

which might be one of the better films involving ships which are notoriously expensive and risky to make (such as the year 1995 which had two hugely expensive bombs; both Cuthroat Island and Water World (technically not a "ship film") which wasn't long after '1492: Conquest of Paradise' and and the earlier, 'Pirates')

The actors for Robin Hood characters are ranked, and I tend to agree with the results (the cartoon character came in second.)

The Magnificent Ambersons (Orson Welles, 1942) Joseph Cotten

That movie influenced Wes Anderson's The Royal Tenenbaums (which I see as an exercise in narcissism,) and is also based on a book.

You would be surprised how much the film influenced people (though it likely shows a lot of similarities to many foreign Directors.) People like Woody Allen or John Cassavetes (which is regarded as the closest approximation to some of his films.)

The Director (Barbara Loden) starred in it and plays a dumb character, which reminded me a bit of Jack Nicholson's character and interaction with his girlfriend in the movie, Five Easy Pieces. Incidentally, when looking up Barabara Loden, she died in the 1980s around the same time that Lee Remick also died of cancer, and about the same age. I was also wondering which state it was recorded in, because the bar scene for 1970 had alcohol age requirements at 21, though it seems all states prior to the release of the film seemed to be 21, and not until the beginning of the 1970s did it reduce it to 18 (and then reverted back for most all states recently.)

City Of Pirates (Raul Ruiz, 1983)

So was this guy (Gareth Williams) killed by the MI6, or was he prone to get into weird sexual deviant behaviors that ended badly? Was he trying out a new technique to infilitrate in a duffle bag, and it ended badly? He had to have been placed in it, and the AC was turned up on heat, and the bathtub was used because the body decomposing would gradually leak into the drain (and the apartment was rented out by the MI6, so the layout was well known about surveillance, which could have been used against him.

Longer video (CIA to Aliens, which she writes about.)

Hardcoded subtitles:

A strange mixture of English dubs and subtitles, yet the Director is recognized as an Indian Director, whereas looking his name up shows a younger film producer who seems to get the only recognition on Rotten Tomatoes.

A lot more interesting than I was expecting (I assumed it was just repurposed information as usual, though it has some updates.)

Russia of course denies claims of such tech being used despite having awards for "non-lethal acoustic weapons."

The approach falls in line with how KGB was studying the phenomenon (and I believe the term originates from when Cuba had been targeted decades prior with US Embassies, and radio-based weapons, to induce the sickness described) but it also falls into the territory of gaslighting and discrediting people along the lines of the "Targeted Individual" (mostly mental illness) claims; unless of course, it has enough widespread occurrence and similarity to the specific targets for it to be taken seriously.

Also, that guy who was arrested for evading Police and then ended up assisting FBI was likely when the cover story for the weapons was revealed in the news, and not until after it was revealed he had died from being sent to the frontlines of Ukraine, that any mention of him exists in the recent news.

Also, I assumed it was possible it was actual ground-based tech of some kind (since it seems some intercepted communication from those areas where people report the stuff shows indications that Russians are on the ground and being talked to about how to operate the tech, such as mentioning if a green light was supposed to show) that they are in fact using satellites much like people use drones to target individuals with it, hence why satellites are being blown out of orbit (though it seems to actually be, satellites that were removed from space prior to the spree of Havana Syndreome radionic warfare were being systematically disabled by CIA, NSA, etc agents, who were then targeted once it was discovered that they were responsible. Though the term neutralized is often used in reference to being killed, it's possible Putin would rather avoid the notoriety of killing foreign agents, as it becomes very evident he goes out of his way to skirt border restrictions to kill people using more lethal means (which often has a high chance of not killing people as intended, and it's more obvious when such things are used, to trace what it is.) The fact that people would report being near windows when they first notice it suggests it's ground-based and the person it operating much as a Private Investigator might eavesdrop on people.

And the reason the CIA/NSA et al just doesn't disappear is probably because it simply can't just go away in this day and age.

And then you get people like this guy that are often confabulating for attention (or mentally ill as some of the commenters suggest.)

Which segways into:

Unsealed: Alien Files (TV Series 2012–2015)
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt2433570/

Season 1

(22 episodes in total, which highlights what kind of quality entertainment you're in for. . . No rushed production or biased research methodologies here. . .)

I thought it might have been another series called 'Alien Files' which aired around 1999 and had sets of 5 dvd's released in 2007 (some not even opened. . . with a playtime of 10 hours, but no reference on IMDB other than "TV Series") (Selling as a steelcase box in brand new condition for $2.36 on Amazon https://www.amazon.com/Alien-Files-UFOs ... B000FC2FCO )

By comparison to Sex Files: Alien Erotica (1998) it's selling poorly.

Complete Playlist https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IpnhiIU ... hLvyWH9aYh

Just reading the descriptions in the comments of that above episode, and it has some interesting explanation for the Pheonix Light sighting (describing lava-like plasma technology clearly visible from the light source of an object that covered 75% of the sky above them as it crossed over them.) It sounds like something that had an extreme amount of gravitational pull, and their were some references in earlier reports of UFO that would fly over and leave what seemed to be a radioactive substance as it caused people sickness as it dropped to the ground and it was one of the few cases where the people sued the government and seemed to win the case (so maybe it was an actual top secret tech, or they paid them to hush up about it, as the technology might not have been our own and was merely being followed by our military?) I suspect the story is bullshit and based on what people would generally know about radiation poisoning, and common military helicopters: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cash%E2%8 ... m_incident

The Pheonix Light sighting seems strangely inconsistent (or it's extremely frustrating as to why it doesn't have more evident clarity in the description of it, which is not atypical with this subject matter, partly because there are far too many bullshitters involved with the topic.) Incidentally, I did see what might have been similar tech, and at the elevation it was at, if it was much closer to the ground it would have probably yielded a similar result. The people I know/knew (since some have died from age) who lived in the Pheonix area never mentioned anything about the topic and at the time I was reluctant to talk about the subject.

And then it continued again with 'Alien Files: Reopened' 2023 with no ratings and only 8 episodes:

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt26543979/

Not sure what's going on with the series
https://www.bigmedia.tv/alien-files

***************

A show I ignored (and probably for reasons like I mention)

14:48 if a bullet weighing a small amount is instead replaced with a person weighing significantly more and traveling at a faster rate of speed, I suspect it would hurt far more than a linebacker. . . Also, what follows after the sequence might be correlated to his x-ray vision as demonstrated in 4:33

All 10 seasons can be bought for about $40, though I'm not sure I could be bothered with even a full episode.

I didn't watch the whole thing, but I was impressed by the beginning of this video about gooseneck barnacles. It got right to the information I wanted within seconds after I wanted it. Cost, what they taste like, and location. And the speaker sounds normal.
