A decent story that highlights the beginning of silent-film horror acting (leading up to the 1930's actors, such as Lon Chaney Jr attempting to fill in following his death.) I'm noticing that all of the famous film actors of that era had very tragic upbringings.

Note: Before the end of the 1920s, bars used to offer a 'Free Lunch' when people came to buy a drink (with the anticipation of buying more than 1 drink if they stayed and ate,) to attract more customers.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Free_lunch

People would obviously take advantage of it as evident by the Great Depression.

Lon Chaney opted to have an unmarked grave, and while looking into it, I noticed many other actors that otherwise simply couldn't get a headstone (Lon Chaney probably could though made it in his will that nothing would identify him.)

Margaret Gibson confessed to murdering a Director when she died in the 1960s, and shortly after was arrested in 1923 on felony charges for a blackmail and extortion ring, but somehow people overlooked her glib mention of killing the Director (who remained an "unsolved case?")

That topic is rather popular in the silent film era. . .

I was a bit surprised to discover in the American Experience Annie Oakley documentary, that news articles reported that she stole a pair of men's pants to try and pay for her cocaine addiction. . . Though it was a person that was posing as her (she was above that since she was a Quaker.) I believe she may have early in her career used to do "one night stands," though the context seems to be performing shooting demonstrations from town to town.

Maybe using "enhanced interrogation" techniques and assuming over 80 sleeper cells for Al-Quada exist throughout the world when there are only 6, might be "part" of the problem with evil bullshit artists like Kissinger, et al?

China also will be a huge problem and 55% of the Chinese (according to a poll. . . The numbers were closer to 30% sometime before, but I'm sure that "doesn't matter" to the Chinese Plutocracy) are in support of invading Taiwan. A large component to this is of course that Taiwain has a significant benefit to the silicone chip manufacturing and is a strategic ally to the US, and though the citizens are as blind and ignorant to the threat, an increasing number of defense spending is going on behind the scenes.

I would suggest reading the comments:
Basically exploitive and "entry-level jobs" don't exist for anything subsisting on demand for workers that don't require playing "catchup" on skillsets the employer is willing to risk hiring for (the assumption is you must have proven a willingness to work the shit job they are hiring for and expect you to go through with it for years to come.)

Companies want "sure bets" that can be churned and burned out of the system and a learned helplessness developed out of Stockholme Syndrome, and no one that has levity to "rock the boat" and pose a legal risk to how they operate (if someone has a voice in how much they get paid, they must have something which on paper appears to justify it, otherwise it's perceived as discrimination.)

More people in the job market means more potential tax breaks or more people who are in greater desperation.

It's a fucking joke when the very infrastructure of commerce revolves around paying $3 in tolls each way you drive to and from, in addition to working a job that only demonstrates the entitlement mentality of the shit trolls people keep popping out.

Tulsa Race massacre (1927) is a fairly sad event and it was one of many that not until the 1940s following WW2 (when a black soldier named Isaac Woodard, was discharged following 4 years of service, after arguing with a bus driver about needing to use the bathroom on the bus, was after several hours later at a rest stop pulled off the bus by Police who beat him several and left him blind) did Truman establish an organization that would reinforce civil rights among the Federal level. Even to this day too many Police forces have an invested interest in not being accountable.

This PBS episode of the series, 'American Experience' covered the Tulsa massacre, and it's unfortunately one of those events that people (even in Tulsa) seem to know little about.
https://www.pbs.org/video/goin-back-to-t-town-lkrlin/

There is also an earlier incident, referred to as, 'Wilmington Insurrection of 1898,' involving fear of black politicians (which seemed to have degraded over the decades after Robert Smalls established the possibility) that has a similar nature to Tulsa and is seemingly overlooked in the entire 'American Experience' documentary.

It seemed to show in a separate series, 'The Rise and Fall of Jim Crow,' included here:

I kind of ignored Dead Stranding and was oblivious to it being a Hideo Kojima game.

I liked the first Metal Gear Solid game because it was kind of "ground-breaking" (and then started playing Xenogears) but upon playing the 2nd one on PS2, generally ignored everything Kojima did until getting into emulation to play the Turbographix Snatcher, and PS1 translation of Policenauts.

Though the graphics still hold up really well (and MGS2 is considered the best of the series https://gamerant.com/every-metal-gear-g ... solid-2-96,) the game is pretty stupid (I think it was watching the intro with the Russian woman and the armpit hair, that I kind of was immediately taken out of immersion,) and Kojima has no difficulty in really stretching the possibility of his story. He also has a weird penchant for trying to incorporate the likeness of well-known actors (such as Mel Gibson and Dannie Glover for Policenauts) and in this case the reviewer is suggesting they added some androgynous Hansen bandmember (which have been forgotten about nearly as soon as they were famous.)

When playing Dead Stranding (which was free on Epic Games about 2 weeks ago) what really made me hesitant to start playing was the absurdity of the premise, which only continues to compound more as you get into it (such as running into some random person while riding a bike through a desolate mountain landscape) that then seems to animate out of nowhere with absolutely ZERO! mention of running into them and presumably killing them) and then seeing some elderly 'First Woman' who becaomes president, then collapse into a black mess goo (but they managed to piece the body together in a body bag,) as well as showing absolutely no sense of urgency in evacuating the dead corpses which are supposed to turn into some kind of black hole or crater of some supernatural necrosis of some kind.

Most of the story is intended to make you "go along with it" to try and make it justify the cost of buying such a game and then justify the time wasted as a parcel courier through 60-80 hours of gameplay. It's designed to capture your attention with the landscape, but repeatedly reminds you of how "out of touch" and vapid the entire game is (and I'm wondering how much creative control Kojima had with Metal Gear solid, as a large part of why his earlier games were generally brushed aside was due to his mistreatment of the characters in the game, which many have labeled as crude and offensive.)

I have yet to start playing MGS5 Ground Zero though that isn't uncommon for me to wait years after acquiring a game (such as Witcher 3 which is the only one I ended up playing.) I was tempted to delete Death Stranding nearly as soon as I had finished downloading it it in favor of Mass Effect Andromeda (which has a lot of questionable aspects, mostly due to the original Mass Effect team leaving in ME3, since EA took over, and creating a formulaic and uninspired plot and story development with the characters, and pretty much showing ZERO inspiration for sci-fi as a concept beyond some stale and crappy sci-fi.)

Is Hideo Kojima a vacuous and narcissistic person with style over substance (a bit like the Steve Jobs of video games; and I bet he has an Iphone.) I'll have to read up on it (though admittedly, how many people are involved with games that have as much creative control over the entirely game development? Shigeru Miyamoto doesn't tend to plaster his name all over the Mario or Zelda series, and it's pretty clear he has a big part in his own games, but Hideo Kojima wants to especially show his name with long drawn out intro sequences, as though you are in for an exciting movie or anime series.)

Also, Monster energy drinks suck balls!

Some of his credits remind me of this:

It's as though Kojima had an idea for an NES game that he stretched out into a modern concept (that still sucks balls.)

The part of that Death Stranding video about Monster Energy at 18:45 (https://youtu.be/aJ0KmbSgMpE?t=1123 ) minutes in, sounds an awful like the Idiocracy movie's Brawndo.

The future is bleak. . .

A bit more backstory. . . It's pretty messed up and that guy deserved much more than just to rot in a cell, by the sound of things (and his evident mistreatment of the women.)
Spoiler
Show
Walter Plankinton's absence from a large portion of the documentary was due to his being in jail because of violation laws after the ranch was discovered to be within the limits of Pahrump where prostitution was still illegal. After several appeals he served 60 days in jail. Later, he was arrested in connection with the murder of three girls from another brothel.[4] In 1984, while still in prison, Plankinton had a fatal heart attack and died a few days prior to the trial.

Mandy was murdered a few years following her dismissal from the ranch, and the murder is still unsolved. Diane went on to be a successful computer analyst while J.J. reportedly fell into the unfortunate fate that Fran had warned her of.
Aside from her being fired, I'm curious how she ended up murdered (and I'm assuming it was unconnected to Walter, though considering he was being investigated for 3 murders, you really have to wonder?

https://moviechat.org/tt0162243/Chicken ... -fired-for

It sounds like she was murdered prior to Walter's arrest (2 years after the documentary would be 1984, and the guy was only arrested on suspicion of another brothel's workers ending up dead, so it seems highly likely he could have been responsible for her?

I've decided to return to Encarta Mindmaze, but have only attempted to use Win3DOSBox by dragging the Windows batch file into DOSBox starting it, and adding the files post-mount of Encarta 94 (Win 3.1 version) into the OS folder allows it to run as a virtual machine. Other versions needed for later Encarta (up to 98 seems to have Mindmaze, anything after that is a very different Encarta) seem to require a boot startup similar to Batocera, but I could be wrong. The difference between the Encarta 94 vs 98 is pretty different.

I was hoping I could use this standalone app to run it, but it seems to require a bit more to mess with it.

https://github.com/felixrieseberg/windows95

The zip compiled folder seemed to have a bug when running, and if you don't close it out correctly it seems to not reopen. There is a way to mount floppies, but anything more abstract like adding a cd, doesn't work beyond a floppy img file. I haven't tried Win3DOSBox with later Encarta versions.

I was arguing with someone who grew up during the Carter transition into Reagan years, who not only had one of the highest GPA's in his small town HS, but who praised Reagan as though he was some sort of "godsend," and everything articulating the problems that Reagan set forth, but even leading up to it (starting with Nixon) was brushed off with a dumb laughing emoji. Either he is/was a cognitive miser that couldn't take bruises to his ego or he simply didn't examine the topic well enough to articulate it, was fairly frustrating.

A Japanese exclusive PS1 game that was translated (dubbed and everything.) I found entertainment in making fun of the dialogue as I played some of it.

Another Japanese PS1 exclusive is Mizzurna Falls (which has more in common with Shenmue than anything else.) Another one is Prisoner of Ice - Jashin Kourin, which has some similarities to earlier submarine games, but with a point-and-click aspect. I'm still not sure that some of the English dubbing was original to the game (as though they figured it was better to make it in English in anticipation of releasing it overseas?)

Something interesting as well was the Ace Combat 3 game in Japan had 2 discs (each one larger than the USA version) compared to one. Also, a special disc was made for the Japanese one that gave you an exclusive plane to use, and for a while I assumed it would work for the USA disc as well, though will be attempting to create a format that appends the 3 disc together (starting with the bonus disc.)

A similar issue was trying to convert an MCR/MC file format to SRM which seems to have a workaround with portable emulators, though none that I have messed with when attempting to add it to a Racing Lagoon game (which had an endgame save which would give you the best car from the beginning.)

This actually kind of relates to the idea of AI and the "demonic" hypothesis (which could well be some alien civilizations AI that has run amuck.)

Dairy industry undercover footage of Fair Oaks Farms in Indiana (near my mom's hometown.)

My original post from 2019 when I shared this:

I remember reading up on Fair Oaks (after I had visited the place while in Indiana) in which a cow was illegally sold to someone for the meat industry, when it was claimed it was in good health though proved to have been given antibiotics or something which could not be considered safe for consumer market, and it seems apparent it only gets worse with how modern farming operates. http://inanimalrights.com/dairy-industry-lawsuit/
In many farms around the world, they have started to destroy vast quantities of food in order to make it "profitable." Even though the location was showing it's "good side" for visitors to its tourism attraction it obviously wasn't the whole picture.

And if you take the allusions of what Pinocchio was interpreting, of why he didn't go to school after being questioned by the Blue Fairy while in Stromboli's cage (that he met some people, and would go onto elaborate 2 monsters which were interpreted as a lie by the Blue Fairy, but in truth these people were "monsters,") it almost denotes that the world was a lie.

I'm almost 95% certain every person in this video aside from Lou Elizondo is a grifter. . .

It's very telling when Linda Moulton Howe mentions (around the 1hr 10min mark of the above video) some random person who was retiring and divulged to her that three alien species have been fighting amongst each other for over 200 million years (with an exact certainty, and not suggesting how they came to this conclusion,) and corroborating the claims of other grifters regarding the likes of "reptilian" or "tall blondes" and that the person was told "you must buy her book!" where this person could entrust her to know and divulge the secrets of the universe. . . FUCK HER; BULLSHIT!

And though people should be skeptical of people like Lou Elizondo, they should be even more skeptical of the grifters that have an agenda to promote false information (look up her name and grifter and several reddit posts will pull up, and I've followed her for awhile and can say with some certainty that she has no intent of being unbiased in what platform is being conveyed.)

On another note: People should be skeptical of transhumanism and what people might have historically been enlighted about in ancient times, because I guarantee that stuff get's pretty interesting if you examine ancient belief systems and realize they somehow seem to have had some idea about dimensions (things like sacred geometry and tree of life were conveying ideas about how the universe was "organized" to some extent.) It's trying to piece together the truth from the myth, as well as misconstrued and shoddy assumptions about whether people are telling the truth without their own agendas/egos, that you will have a very difficult time coming to any real certainty.

Whether or not this video says any real truth will be very difficult to grasp, as it really has no integrity to convey.

Here is further proof of what a bullshit artist LMH is:

Her narcissistic posturing at 2:35:00 onward is a direct reflection of her lack of integrity as a Journalist, and it's as if she went over the railing so long ago that she knows she could never return to regular journalism, so she has to ignore the very evident (intentional or self) deception when presented the very evident problems in her "proof." Either she is being intentionally discredited, or (what seems obvious to me) is a grifter with made-up "sources."

This isn't the first time she framed easily disproven "evidence of aliens" in photographs as proof, and when confronted with it tries to further embellish it as though she wasn't lying or being a hack Journalist.

If telling the truth is too much for her to handle, she probably should have stopped over a decade ago (and she has the temerity to claim Ancient Aliens gives her credibility as a researcher.)

This 3hr 30minute video elaborates on the above video with Curt and looks into further examples, and I would skip through it rather than try to listen to it at no less than 2x the speed, because it get's bogged down in slow dredge.
