And I think what Jordan Peterson is getting into is the idea that societies will gravitate towards coalescing diverging ideologies which doesn't necessarily require historical, but rather allegorical narrative to allow societal adaptation.
I still suspect that part of that narrative incorporates entheogenic references (burning bush which could be acacia (source of DMT,) the cow reverence in Vedic traditions could be relatable to manger of Christ's birthplace and possible sacred mushroom, and the way Biblical traditions involved new names signifying a "rebirth" apotheosis could even be a reference to inducing near-death DMT release through drowning in a baptismal ceremony; seems to suggest a reimaging of an idea which often was allegorical in nature (akin to Abraham 'Father of Many,' or Enoch becoming 'Metatron'--which is the top sephirot of the 'Tree of Life' in Kaballah--much as Emanual becomes 'Jesus.' I suspect that every time the disciples and Apostle Paul references Jesus, they are describing an idea that was abstract, and may have been akin to an "anathema" name of God (or Yahweh, which seems to be a reference to a meditative state-of-mind,) akin to the YHWH and the triangle sacred geometry reference which seems to incorporate a very ancient idea of a fractal cosmology (akin to 'Tree of Life' comprising part of the 'Flower of Life' in Eastern mysticism; they are related, and you will find that it is also incorporated into other geometric patterns.)
The Christian tradition carried on from ancient traditions with the idea of a trinity (Triskelion traditions which may have carried over from the Trinity of Egypt and Babylon, or the Vedic traditions for that matter) and you will find a triangle in reference to a Metatron (which some refer to as a "lesser deity" incorporating a triangle concept, which you will find on RC church cathedrals) and Pythagoras referred to himself as the "son of" (metaphorical?) Hermes (which could be a basis for Egypt's Thoth as he was a psychopomp) and Dionysius.
I see the trinity as a metaphor for how society evolves and maintains power/sovereignty, as people would have revered the idea of studying nature as a means to understand entropy and maintaining stability in societal preservation. Perhaps part of this trend was in incorporating occultic themes into society gradually and allowing society to flourish through adapting what society would understand and relate to?
