A very similar thing is suspected to happen with the covert and black budget activities the US does overseas, suggesting even drug smuggling is used to carry out much of it (I doubt much of the stuff could be going on and be hushed up without complicity of the government.) The Iran Contra Affair was more than just gun smuggling (supposedly drugs were involved, which would continue up into the Iraq war where it's alleged the dead veterans had their bodies stuffed with drugs which were then removed when they arrived in the USA,) though it probably contributed to some interesting video games. Obviously their were several times when drug smuggling operations were foiled by planes crashing (suggesting that enough activity would have been going on without being noticed, if just one or two end up being revealed as having ties to shell companies used by the CIA, et al.) Too often intelligence agencies operate with quid pro quo involving proxy governments, such as the case with Israel, which is how some of the cyber hacking projects were revealed through alterations to the software which made it more noticeable; and so are foreign governments actively engaged with attacking the infrastructures.

I was watching documentaries about the B-2 (B might stand for Billion) bomber, and followed with Carrier of War: USS Enterprise (after watching the newer Star Trek series) and saw a portion about safety, where a guy get's pulled into the intake of one of the fighter jets. I assumed he was dead but it turns out he survived it (it turns out the helmet and tools destroyed the engine and he remained in the air intake with only minor injuries, considering what would have happened otherwise. . . He didn't get shit out the other end, and I think I now remember hearing about this prior.)

This Ruskie seemed to notice the drone before it decided to send him the message.
The comments refer to him as Leonid the Unprofessional. . . due to the glasses and skull cap. I don't think it worked in his favor.
The drone operator also zoomed in on a patch added to the vest that says in Russian, "Mom Said, wear it." The shrapnel explosion seems to have penetrated it along with his head (he wasn't wearing a helmet, and I don't spot one in the debris he tried to camouflage himself in (the cameras are possibly better than they anticipated, but if I was him, I would have remained underneath the debris that was left in the field, or at least pick a better spot.) I'm wondering if he was simply resting or was already being watched from previous incursions. I don't see any weapons near him (though he does have a walkie.
He clearly knew he was being watched though figured it was safer to "play dead," only to give away the fact he was still alive. The problem also is that this could be a civilian (who nevertheless has a walkie talkie?)
