A very similar thing is suspected to happen with the covert and black budget activities the US does overseas, suggesting even drug smuggling is used to carry out much of it (I doubt much of the stuff could be going on and be hushed up without complicity of the government.) The Iran Contra Affair was more than just gun smuggling (supposedly drugs were involved, which would continue up into the Iraq war where it's alleged the dead veterans had their bodies stuffed with drugs which were then removed when they arrived in the USA,) though it probably contributed to some interesting video games. Obviously their were several times when drug smuggling operations were foiled by planes crashing (suggesting that enough activity would have been going on without being noticed, if just one or two end up being revealed as having ties to shell companies used by the CIA, et al.) Too often intelligence agencies operate with quid pro quo involving proxy governments, such as the case with Israel, which is how some of the cyber hacking projects were revealed through alterations to the software which made it more noticeable; and so are foreign governments actively engaged with attacking the infrastructures.

I was watching documentaries about the B-2 (B might stand for Billion) bomber, and followed with Carrier of War: USS Enterprise (after watching the newer Star Trek series) and saw a portion about safety, where a guy get's pulled into the intake of one of the fighter jets. I assumed he was dead but it turns out he survived it (it turns out the helmet and tools destroyed the engine and he remained in the air intake with only minor injuries, considering what would have happened otherwise. . . He didn't get shit out the other end, and I think I now remember hearing about this prior.)

This Ruskie seemed to notice the drone before it decided to send him the message.
The comments refer to him as Leonid the Unprofessional. . . due to the glasses and skull cap. I don't think it worked in his favor.
The drone operator also zoomed in on a patch added to the vest that says in Russian, "Mom Said, wear it." The shrapnel explosion seems to have penetrated it along with his head (he wasn't wearing a helmet, and I don't spot one in the debris he tried to camouflage himself in (the cameras are possibly better than they anticipated, but if I was him, I would have remained underneath the debris that was left in the field, or at least pick a better spot.) I'm wondering if he was simply resting or was already being watched from previous incursions. I don't see any weapons near him (though he does have a walkie.
He clearly knew he was being watched though figured it was safer to "play dead," only to give away the fact he was still alive. The problem also is that this could be a civilian (who nevertheless has a walkie talkie?)
It's easy to forget the Oliver Stone interview with Putin following the first invasion.

If you have some time for me
Then I will sing a song for you
Of ninety-nine balloons
On their way to the horizon
Are you perhaps thinking of me right now?
Then I will sing a song for you
Of ninety-nine balloons
And something that came of them
[Verse 2]
Ninety-nine balloons
On their way to the horizon
Were taken for UFOs from space
Hence, a general sent
A squadron after them
To give the alarm
But there, on the horizon
Were just ninety-nine balloons
[Verse 3]
Ninety-nine jet fighters
Each was a great warrior
Regarded themselves as Captain Kirk
There was a great display of fireworks
The neighbors didn't understand
And instantly felt offended
But they shot at the horizon
At ninety-nine balloons

Re: Run-up to WW3
Checking over Instagram I saw a Russia Times posts of video footage of beaches being attacked, and was wondering if it was just propaganda by Russia. It seems Zelensky really did strike Crimea citing it as a military target, even though the video might suggest otherwise. It didn't help that Marjorie Taylor Green was repeating the statement about the attack, even if true.

--> Mykhailo Podolyak - a top aide to President Volodymyr Zelensky - said the peninsula was in effect "a large military camp" which he said held "hundreds of direct military targets, which the Russians are cynically trying to hide and cover up with their own civilians".
Russia kind of retaliated:

China is believed to fake out there weapon manufacturing, with some speculating it's to appear to comply with demilitarization, while keeping weapon's grade materials hidden away and repurposed when needed. It could also be a fake story about rockets, though appeared when some weapons failed to deploy during a test--but also it seems that Russia was also using some of these and they failed to function? The story about water was either fake or perhaps someone was trying to sabotage their weapons? It was assumed that fuel was being sold off in place of water so when it was pumped into the weapons it became apparent of corruption (so China replaced many of the military executives--and if true that could just be a precursor to a war initiative?) Some of this interpretation by the west could just be 'lost in translation."

I'm gonna work the preparedness angle.
Some you you may remember my affinity for flashlights. Thanks for remembering. I just ordered a Streamlight Dualie 3AA. It's an intrinsically safe flashlight, meaning it's safe to use in an environment with gas (read the specifications for specificals). Great brand. I spent hours searching for for something with a floodlight before I chose this one, which has both flood and spot. By many opinions, a floody beam makes a flashlight more useful in more situations, and I was always a fan of flashlights with adjustable focus, like Maglights, even if many flashlight aficionados don't like the less than perfectly uniform light pattern (they prefer fixed-focus lights, either spot-only or flood-only, or lights that have dual-reflectors). A flood light wont penetrate smoke as well - you need a powerful spotlight for that, and the Streamlight Dualie 3AA isn't so powerful from either it's spot or flood reflectors, but you can't have everything, especially for the price I was willing to spend. 140 lumens is OK though, by today's standards. It blows away flashlights from the 1980s.
I'm still working on my emergency water game.

This was a week ago?
A year ago Russia decommissioned this Typhoon class ('Hunt for the Red October') submarine and it's awaiting recycling of the metals.
I'm guessing they already have a replacement that is stealthy enough to be used, or they just figured it was too obvious the submarine could be detected, and so it was pointless even utilizing it?

6 were built (a hypothetical 7th was never started but was the basis for the movie) and the above is the largest. Out of the water on drydock, it's just rusting away (and I was trying to find the image online to show, but it should be available and was shared on Facebook.) It seems every one except this one has been made into scrap.
