Our programme to retouch,
And will insist, whene’er they speak
That we demand too much.
’Tis passing strange, yet I declare
Such statements give me mirth,
For our demands most moderate are,
We only want the earth.

Googling that, I came across this gem.
Hugh Stevens over yonder at https://www.marxists.org/history/erol/uk.hightide/connollyism.htm wrote:James Connolly, the greatest of all the proletarian revolutionaries to have been brought forth by the class struggle in the British Isles, was shot at dawn on May 12th, 1916.
Hey man, that guy can find inspiration in whatever lights a spark in his soul.

Now, Utisz. You're in the desert walking and you encounter a tortoise. You turn it over on its back.
The tortoise lays on its back, its belly baking in the hot sun, beating its legs trying to turn itself over but it can't. Not without your help. But you're not helping.
Why aren't you helping, Utisz?
You can't be walking in the desert, then encounter a tortoise and turn it on its back, then also say you ARE the tortoise. That's just ridiculous even for someone who is paraphrasing a song that John Lennon and Paul McCartney wrote while tripping balls.
That's what I thought too, like logically it makes sense what you say, and then there I was, the tortoise.Autochthonic wrote: ↑Thu Jul 21, 2022 3:07 amYou can't be walking in the desert, then encounter a tortoise and turn it on its back, then also say you ARE the tortoise. I've decided that's not a real thing/movie that happened and refuse to search it on the grounds of first principles. But speaking of walruses, have you seen the movie Tusk? Justin Long was surprisingly good in that.
