I don't watch reaction videos, but yeah, the movie had some funny moments, especially when they walk into the Gender Studies class. xD However I think I'm enjoying the new series more.

It does seem more true to the original series (minus the music videos it seems which were basically MTV's version of MST3K which segway into more story development.) I only saw their characters pop up in odd 3d versions within superbowl advertisements (which is probably the only thing I glanced at during the entire game) which would have been disappointing if Mike Judge decided to use that kind of animation as modern versions, and it's one of the few animations that seems to preserve a lot of the character of when it was first created.

I've yet to watch any Game of Thrones other than the first season, and it kind of reminds me of the HBO Rome series, which seemed to degenerate into absurdity (and possibly/probably genuine conflict on set, as I can't see why they changed one of the main actors following a fight scene between Mark Antony and Octavian Julius (Caesar Augustus.) A lot of productions seem to fall apart when they get too carried away in the escapist lifestyle and no longer take it as serious. He seemed to be an older actor but he still had the bruises (makeup) from the fight with Mark Antony.

I have not watched the tv series but I have read the books. The first 3 book were solid gold, and I think book 4 was pretty good too (been so long my memory is fuzzy). Book 5 (the last book published circa 2011) was starting to drag as I recall.

Martin started writing this thing in 1991. So even book 5 was 20 years later. I'm skeptical he will ever finish at this point. I understand he sketched out the plot lines for the series and then I guess script writers took over. If the books ever get finished, I'll be curious to see if they disappoint like the final seasons of the tv series apparently did (almost everyone seems to think they stunk). Was it Martin or the script writers?

I wonder if authors, similar to musicians, lose their creative juices as they get older? I mean, not completely, but their later works never seem to be as good as those done in their prime.

Of course, not many authors take 30+ f*cking years to write a series, so it's harder to perceive a decline if they move from one novel/series to a completely new one.

Dr. Barry Taff's website (this guy is currently in a health crisis and has a gofundme, yet he showed up to be interviewed in the next video, so I wonder when it was recorded.) The website seems like he hasn't bothered with in the last 5 years.

My mom just sent a video without telling me why.

Apparently, a dysfunctional uncle had a bastard daughter (whose brother he also assumed was his but turned out to be a psychopathic truck driver that chopped off a homeless guy's fingers for clinging to the side of his rig) who ended up in needing a liver transplant since she abuses alcohol like a fish needing water.

I looked into it a bit:

Probably not unlike how you can study trauma of terrifying circumstances such as:

The death of the American city
https://unherd.com/2021/03/the-death-of ... ican-city/

An older documentary that reflects this (1991 documentary presented again in 2011, and reposted on Youtube now.)

Holocaust survivor

info https://www.preserveauschwitz.org/survi ... -friedman/

She makes the claim that her mother showed her parts of the camp where they both survived, where she claims they had lampshades made of human skin, and bars of soap from human fat (which apparently is widely believed, but not because they actually knew the source.)

It's not.

Soap
https://www.haaretz.com/world-news/2020 ... cc1aa80000

Lampshade (had been dna tested as well as believed by qualified people, but due to contamination from handling, has been confirmed to be cowhide after ruling that out.)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lampshade ... human_skin

Some of this stuff might have been believed, though perhaps was propaganda by the military rather than believed at the time people were discovering what the guard's quarters were up to (where not being familiar with the terminology of the soap manufacturer played into belief of a more sinister character.) Most of her story seems true but I do question some of the narrative (it's as if she fills and embellishes things that give credibility but also seems to hold back on some of the details, which most likely would only have been known about "after the fact." If people were that aware of their situation it seems like people couldn't possibly be killing each other on trains (can this be corroborated? Evidently, the conditions were harsh enough that people died, but you expect people would have their act together if they were already traumatized? Do people magically start murdering each other if they already have a common enemy?) Would people have acknowledge cremetoriums when local villages were still proclaiming ignorance in spite of noticing some involvement?)

I was looking at movies that were mostly product placement (And surprisingly, E.T.'s Reeses wasn't even mentioned??? Maybe because it wasn't so overtly stupid?)

The kid in a wheelchair starts dancing at McDonalds? (I need to watch it, as I mostly only remember it as the badly designed and ugly alien movie shown on TV.)

I would rather watch this, to be honest.
