While trying not to hyperventilate on an airplane, I got to listen to Brel: Ces Gens-Là, a compilation of his songs interpreted by various artists. I don't usually like that kind of thing but this was pretty good - even the rap of Il nous faut regarder.
Here's a popular gem I only just discovered (?!) by Edith Piaf which I never knew was a French tune (EDIT: and now someone is telling me this was not originally a French tune, but a Peruvian waltz... EDIT2: I just looked this up and it's an old Argentine tune from the 30s composed to sound like a Peruvian waltz...). We have an Argentine folk interpretation of it that I will post below.
