I'm not sure to what extent his memory lapses can be attributed to being nervous when communicating, but it sounds like a lot of his behavior is tied to personal vendettas, and being partially aware of the fact he does show age-related memory lapses. He does come across as though he was someone you would find greeting people at Walmart or having a casual conversation with at a retirement community.

The owner of several BBQ restaurants (the kind that probably cause lung cancer for those that eat there) were stupid enough to force tip sharing amongst Management and the employees (who most likely tried to skirt sharing tips by pocketing or underreporting, which I can imagine was a big issue and hence the retarded decision to make tip sharing something that Management had an incentive to encourage.)
How no one alerted them it was illegal to have the Management take some of the employee tip money (hence the corruption of garnishing wages. . . A bit like allowing the people that collect the tithing money at a congregation to then have an incentive to get payouts aren't of concern?)

The very name of the place sounds like a dick reference but is apparently ("officially") some kind of Paul Newman movie reference that deals with gambling, but I'm really not sure how the fuck a bbq place has anything directly referencing gambling, other than the owner gambling with bad decisions.
Hard Eight may refer to: Hard eight, a dice roll in the game of craps wherein both dice land on four.
My guess is they were marketing the place in the same way that "Fuzzy's Tacos" is probably not referring to actual tacos (and people are dumb ass consumers for not realizing it.) It's just more Freudian, Edward Bernays manipulation of the subconscious and people's impulsive and animalistic, droopy-fatty tongue sounding inbred wanker nonsense.
In the end, Hard Eight BBQ owed $867,500 to 910 workers. (about $950 per employee amongst 5 stores)
I would expect the cost of paperwork involved and possibly also legal counsel would amount to more than that. A lot of Attorneys would have been eager to cling onto this case, much like I had Attorney's looming around me as a Flex delivery driver like a vulture when delivering to them, where they would offer me candy and a name card if I ever got into an accident, as if they actually had my best interest at heart (though I never mentioned to them, I believe they could have pushed the case that using dry ice in personal use vehicle was a major liability because the carbon dioxide could have cause people to pass out at the wheel, as well as the expectation that you end up driving wrecklessly for some retarded ape purchasing their useless crap and feeling incentevized by getting credit for delayed orders to buy more products they know aren't going to be delivered on time at an apartment complex because of how the GPS works and time to walk to their front door instead of the leasing office.) Some of the apps force you to drive 30 minutes for what would have taken the consumer 4 minutes or less of their own time to get (and somehow humanity would deny it's causing global warming or not causing problems with their lead filled insulated thermal cups sent all the way from slave labor China, for some retarded ass consumers that just like to own 40x what they need to own?) Fuck society.
Edit:
I guess I missed the part where the $950,000 is actually a total of $8 million, because they somehow didn't want to acknowledge the challenging task of not exploiting their server staff in order to justify the Managers wanting to work there for a livable wage (while their dumb ass was building more nasty, smokey-ass restaurants.)

Inventor of NTP protocol that keeps time on billions of devices dies at age 85
https://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2024/01 ... at-age-85/
A lot more than just the NTP protocol (time synchronization across all internet devices on networks worldwide,) and many of the terminologies we use likely are correlated to his work with Arpanet (proto-internet) such as "ping," and the first implementation of FTP data transfer.

I'm most familiar with I-35W since I live near the southern part of the Interstate, when I had to do a double-check that it was the same highway 2000 miles away, when a woman abandoned her vehicle in the middle of the highway after hitting a deer which runs off, which a gas tanker then hits, causing a massive explosion. I doubt her car had been completely immobilized, but it makes me think of this incident, where I have doubts the cargo ship simply lost power, and instead just really fucked up too late to try and change the direction of the cargo ship (which clearly hit straight on with the support column of the bridge.) Those ships are so massively oversized for the channel as it is.

Bumpers were recommended after 911 but were deemed "too expensive."Six people are unaccounted for following the collapse of Baltimore's Francis Scott Key Bridge, according to officials. Rescue teams continue to search for missing people in the water.
Eight people were on the bridge when a cargo ship crashed into it early Tuesday. Two of them were saved from the water earlier today.
The crew on the ship issued a "mayday" call before it collided with the bridge, Maryland Gov. Wes Moore said. Video shows the collapse of the 1.6-mile-long, four-lane bridge after it was hit by the vessel...
"The whole bridge just fell down. Start, start whoever … everybody. The whole bridge just collapsed," a person is heard on the radio.

The banking system could be on the verge of collapse again (over 180 banks could face a similar problem to what happened to the Silicon Valley banks) and it's been about a year since the 2023 bank crisis and bailout.

Re: What's going on in your city/country/region?
A 4.8 earthquake hit NJ and was felt in PA and NY. I was at work, in the bathroom. I think I heard it and thought someone was downstairs by the bathroom, maybe checking up on why I was there for a half hour (because of a chipped wisdom tooth, I string and water floss after my morning bagel, and it's a whole little procedure to deal with my oral irrigation syringe, plus my biological doody clock goes off then and I needed two back-to-back doodies that day because the first was incomplete - my bad - and I went up for my forgotten syringe betwixt 'em.). Others who were upstairs felt it. (the earthquake)
Re: What's going on in your city/country/region?
I got vaccinated for dengue yesterday (QDenga, the Japanese vaccine). There's a historic dengue outbreak in Argentina right now, 180,000 confirmed cases since the start of the year and 129 deaths. But since we have a libertarian govt, they're not doing anything, just letting the free market take care of it, which is going splendidly - we already ran out of every type of repellant.
There's so much misinformation, a lot of people are still gathering in parks and going out jogging in green areas, when they have a reasonable chance of getting this disease, which is no joke.

Re: What's going on in your city/country/region?
Is there a vaccine shortage or is some other factor leading to the lack of others doing the same as you? Possibly just ignorance of the scope of the problem or maybe some anti-vax nonsense post covid?
Anyhow, I'm curious to see how Milei works out for Argentina. Drastic reform is clearly required, so maybe he can pull it off despite his outlandish approach.

'Reasonable Doubt' was how it was labeled (it does not mean the official verdict was "not guilty," but rather, "we know he's guilty but can't 100% prove that he is," so he was given a fine as a form of apology to the victim's families.)
For those that assume otherwise, their was plenty of DNA evidence to trace him directly to what happened the day of their deaths. . . This is beyond a doubt (so how it wasn't "beyond a reasonable doubt," is probably due to it being a hard pill to swallow.)
Some of the Jurors admitted they thought he was guilty but put "not guilty" for other reasons (such as, not trusting the Police weren't complicit in ensuring that the evidence pointed towards OJ being found guilty, or that the evidence wasn't contaminated by incompetence from the Police forensics.)
Many argue that his "If I Did It" book was a confession since it framed it as hypothetical since it would be aberrant for someone to frame an argument as such unless they were some kind of psychopath or sociopath devoid of any attachment to what occurred.
